In this role you will be responsible for controlling a supplier portfolio to ensure that materials are delivered on time in full managing all data and communication between the plant and Supplier
DUTIES
- Using MRP / SAP to ensure optimised material requirements planning is achieved.
- Maintain and issue supplier Schedules
- Control of supplier requirements and ensuring that ordering and delivery is in line with supplier lead times and payment terms.
- Working with Production to understand exceptional material requirements translating into material delivery plans.
- Liaise with MP&L Logistics Analyst regarding material requirements and timed changes to minimise scrap and obsolescence costs.
- Control of delivery notes.
- Control of Supplier packaging levels and regular reporting of stock levels and damage container control to minimise financial impact.
- Provide comprehensive efficient logistics support to all areas of the business
- Work with projects and purchasing to support change control and new product introduction.
- Liaise with the third party and Supplier transport companies
- Control of SAP master data for allocated portfolio to ensure stock optimization delivery of Supplier requirements and business objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong IT skills
- MRP skills, preferably SAP
- Excellent experience of Material Planning from within a fast- paced manufacturing background would be beneficial

We are seeking a recent graduate, who has gained work experience during a placement year within an engineering / manufacturing environment.
The company I am currently supporting are seeing a steady upturn in the demand for their products and are looking to strengthen their Production/ Planning and Assembly Project Management Team with a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer.
The company produces a high volume of products for the engineering sector and these products comprise of small parts and components that are sourced from suppliers across globe to be assembled to a high quality standard in the West Midlands plant. They work to fast lead times and needs to plan at least 3 months in advance of future projects and programmes to ensure the availability of stock, components and materials are in place.
The role will be working for the Operations Manager and assisting in the day-to-day activities of maintaining the manufacturing and assembly systems and processes to ensure the effective role out of new orders are met. This will involve becoming a key coordinator of information between all departments and teams and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and quality of daily operations.
The Graduate Manufacturing Engineer will hold key responsibilities for scheduling and planning and the reconfiguration of production cells, communicating and liaising with the R&D and Operations teams for upcoming projects to ensure the smooth delivery of projects and implement efficiency improvements.
The Graduate Manufacturing Engineer will need the following Qualifications and Experience:
- A Degree qualification in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (2.1 ideally)
- Some working or internship experience of working in either an operations, manufacturing, production or project engineering environment. (6 months)

- Visit customer facilities for involvement in problem resolution, quality issues, rework, new project meetings, etc. 20% Travel required.

- You will have gained your experience from within a high- volume manufacturing environment
- This is a true Programme Manager role, and you will have experience of overseeing the complete life cycle of a project
