This opportunity is for a successful Installations Supervisor, who has experience installing on site a range of construction type buildings, including structural steel.
This highly successful construction manufacturing company, who are one of the biggest volumetric suppliers within the UK are looking for a forward thinking, self-starter with eye for detail, to join the Installations team, as a site supervisor to work on site at various sites around the UK.
This is an opportunity that can offer security and varied work, with 5-10 years’ worth of projects in place. Being one of the largest suppliers into Defence, Retail, Commercial and Education, every day is different, varied, and excited.
Applications are welcomed from those who are currently or have previously worked in construction, as a site supervisor or site manager, who have worked in erection. The candidates must have relevant site supervisor cards and a PASMA Card.

Duties of a Senior Site Civil Engineer
As a proven Senior Site Civil Engineer, you will be required to manage the planned and reactive maintenance activities of the site services team, whilst also undertaking statutory inspection for compliance across the facility.
The role will see you managing a wide range of infrastructure based work such as brickwork, structural concrete, roadways, effluent & storm drains and general facilities maintenance such as carpentry and painting / decorating across our large and ageing facility that will see you not only manage remedial works but also work on new developments on site.
Requirements of a Senior Site Civil Engineer
You must hold formal Apprenticeship and be qualified to a minimum of an HNC standard in Civil Engineering or a construction discipline. Linked to a proven background in managing small teams undertaking similar works.

Role Function
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the function of this role is to assist in controlling, monitoring, recording and analysing costs and resources relating to company contracts and enhancing the value of contracts through effective financial control.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out contract reviews, conduct valuations and the pricing of variations
- In conjunction with the Contracts Manager prepare and monitor client accounts, along with conducting measurements and surveying duties on site
- Carry out cost value reconciliation’s (profit and loss), preparation of contract documents. Check job costings against quoted figures, chase agreement on prices
- Development of knowledge relevant to contract conditions
- Chase instructions and ensure we have received written instruction from Project Manager (authority signature). File manual site instructions and keep electronic filing folders
- Meet with Client (QS) on weekly/fortnightly/monthly basis as project requires
- Ensure applications are completed on time with Contracts Manager and are issued to commercial. Agree final account with Contracts Manager
- Liaise with other subcontractors employed by the Company and negotiate with the client and members of the professional team. Calculate accounts and actively negotiate final accounts and payments

Role Overview
- Client is looking to recruit an experienced Piling Design Engineer, to work within their estimating team, who is looking to progress their career, working within a homeworking role. As a business, they are committed to the professional development of their employees and this is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful and expanding business.
- The teams principal objective is to identify new business opportunities by preparing design solutions, estimates and tender proposals for the delivery of a variety of piling disciplines that meets the customer’s needs and in accordance with the Company’s Sales and Commercial Strategy.
- The role is design and estimating. You will need to be proficient in working with relevant design software and have an understanding of the estimating process. You will be expected to work from a bill of quantities or a set of drawings and any other form of enquiry documents a client will issue and provide piling designs and price estimates for everything from a one-off scheme to ongoing projects which will be completed over several months.
- You will be required to follow a project through with any design requirements as the project develops or progresses.
- You will be expected to have combined site experience with quantity surveying skills, commercial acumen and a mind capable of financial analysis.
- This is a customer focused role that requires you to have the ability to engage with clients to determine their needs and articulate those requirements in order to provide a solution-based proposal.
Design and Estimating Skills Required
- Interpret architectural engineering plans, blueprints and specification drawings to determine the scope of works
- Check the tender requirements against the Company’s governance procedure and accordance with the Company’s Sales and Commercial Strategy to determine the most appropriate engineering design solution for the installation of sheet steel, driven or bored piles, etc
- Prepare designs for fully embedded retaining walls, cantilever and propped solutions, bearing piles either bored driven or VCC using information supplied by the client or suitable generic engineering values for the soil strata present on site
- In conjunction with the Contracts Manager, conduct site inspections for tender understanding, analysis of conditions, assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in the tender documents
- Review contract conditions and incorporate the Company’s requirements within a written tender submission document
- Liaise with client on an ongoing basis to determine progress of tender
- Comply with stated Company policies and procedures relating to health and safety legislation
Essential Qualifications and Work Experience
- BA Engineering / Civil Engineering – or equivalent in relevant experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in heavy civil engineering
Working Hours
- Minimum 40 hrs per week as dictated to meet the needs of the business.
- The pressure and fixed nature of deadlines means some late nights may be needed. Overnight stays are rare, but you will need to travel to meet clients on site.

- The Infrastructure Engineer will be managing and undertaking numerous residential, commercial and public sector related clients and projects. Liaison and co-operative working with team members, senior staff and colleagues in other disciplines
- Writing of Flood Risk Assessment reports, Transport Assessments and other technical reports for strategic development schemes
- Development of surface water drainage strategy designs, Road design, S38, S104, S106 and S278 documentation
- Prepare design models, drawings, calculations, technical documents, reports and correspondence
- Assist Director with operation of the Civil team to meet the productivity and growth aspirations of the company
