RESPONSIBILITIES for QUALITY ENGINEER
Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify and eliminate sources of variation and improve processes.
Contribute to maintaining ISO 9001 compliance, including participation in internal and external audit activities.
Assist with the introduction of new tooling and manufacturing processes, including SPC and capability studies, during NPI projects.
Conduct supplier development activities, including communicating quality requirements and offering technical support.
Perform on-site supplier and customer visits as required to resolve quality issues and build relationships.
Lead or support the resolution of customer concerns, ensuring effective implementation of corrective actions.
Analyse problems using structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D and Six Sigma methodologies.
Drive reduction in customer complaints, internal process variation, and external PPM.
Perform process and compliance audits in line with internal and ISO standards.
Support and develop departmental KPIs aligned with business-level objectives.
Contribute to improving poka-yoke systems and error-proofing initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS for QUALITY ENGINEER
Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 (ISO 14001 desirable).
Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis, corrective action systems, and continuous improvement tools.
Experience with 8D problem-solving methodology and Six Sigma tools.
Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability studies.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams.
Full UK driving license required for supplier/customer site visits

RESPONSIBILITIES for QUALITY ENGINEER
Maintain the IATF 16949 Quality System, ensuring compliance across all relevant departments.
Plan and conduct internal audits (IATF, quality, and process) and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions for any non-conformities.
Lead quality involvement in the engineering change process, including participation in weekly meetings and ensuring APQP requirements are met.
Coordinate annual product testing with accredited external laboratories, ensuring regulatory and internal standards are upheld.
Manage internal and supplier non-conformances, including material segregation and documentation.
Represent the Quality function in APQP activities for new projects
Drive root cause analysis and corrective action (8D) for internal and external issues
Control calibration processes for all measurement and inspection equipment
Monitor internal scrap trends
Manage supplier Certificates of Conformity (CoC) and maintain accurate records of all quality documentation.
Collect and analyse quality data
Maintain and update customer portals with relevant quality documentation, audit results, and project updates.
REQUIREMENTS FOR QUALITY ENGINEER
Relevant Quality Engineer experience, you will have gained your experience from within a manufacturing / engineering background
Proactive and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to seeing tasks through to completion.
Technically proficient, with strong IT skills including Microsoft Office 365 and working knowledge of web-based systems; experience with SAP quality modules is advantageous.
Skilled in problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone (Ishikawa) analysis, etc.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including 5S, Standardised Work, Poka-Yoke, and Just-In-Time (JIT).
Thorough understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards and their practical application in a manufacturing environment.
Six Sigma training (Green Belt or higher) is desirable but not essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing quality processes, leading a team of professionals, and driving improvements in product quality and efficiency. This role requires a strong leader with experience in quality assurance, problem-solving methodologies, and effective communication across teams and with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and guide employees within the SQA and Production Quality teams, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with organizational goals.
Quality Standards Development: Define and implement local Business Unit (BU) quality standards, including work instructions, limit sample lists, and inspection plans, in coordination with BU Production Quality.:
Conduct weekly quality improvement meetings to review product quality metrics, scrap rates, and error analyses.
Drive the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and corrective action implementation to reduce scrap and improve quality outcomes.
Lead and coordinate the 8D problem-solving process for quality complaints.
Generate and present 8D reports, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.

The Quality Manager will have proven quality management exposure within the Automotive industry, and importantly, you will have demonstrable extensive experience of being ‘hands-on’ with quality, managing Automotive Quality systems and building a quality team.
The Quality Manager will manage all aspects of Quality, Quality Procedures & Business Operating Systems and to provide technical support to the business in the technical development of the Quality department and the operating equipment used to confirm quality assurance.

Quality Manager Candidate Requirements
Proven Automotive industry experience.
The quality team is small, so you will be willing and prepared to literally be ‘hands-on’ and support the quality team when required.
IATF16949 experience is essential. An HNC in Engineering would be useful.
Demonstrable experience in managing quality functions and implementing a quality management system.
Man-management skills (inc. Disciplinary, Performance monitoring, Manpower planning and recruitment).
Manufacturing / production experience (In-depth experience of production planning and lean manufacturing).
Previous experience of developing efficient quality and business operating systems.
Key Responsibilities (but limited to)
The Quality Manager will support / devise Quality and Environmental action plans, to meet all relevant standards including IATF16949 and ISO14001 and ensuring the complete and timely introduction of appropriate measures.
Authoritarian with respect to decision making on customer affected quality issues.
Ensure departmental & company procedures are aligned with the quality standards as
determined by the customer and adhering to the company’s quality procedures thereby ensuring continued TS 16949 registration.
Develop a cross-functional teamwork approach involving all departmental disciplines.
Constantly monitor and analyse performance and implement continuous improvements.
Maximize efficiency of operations via good management, a flexible manning approach to standardised work, practical problem solving, continuous improvement and plan, do, check & act methodology with built in quality.
Devise and maintain a continuous training and development plan.
Constantly improve and develop the process to ensure an efficient operation and delivering / improving the facility with all the necessary documentation so as to achieve full utilisation of the manufacturing resource focusing on consistent process that achieves the daily production targets.
