Our client is an industry leading Tier 1 client who are looking for a Quality Engineer on a 12 month contract who has a background in Automotive to join them as their business continues to grow and provide outstandingly high quality products.
This role will require travel to EMEA and around the UK to service Suppliers.
This role has the possibility to be based in Huddersfield or Northamptonshire.
Competitive Hourly rate - Negotiable
12 month contract
As Quality Engineer you will be responsible for supplier evaluation and selection
You will be responsible for PPAP
Work with suppliers to ensure all quality standards are met and use them quality tools efficiently
As Quality engineer you will measure supplier quality performance
Previous experience in a quality engineering role and ideally with some experience being supplier facing
You will need to be open to travel around the UK and EMEA
Background in Automotive (Tier 1/2) preferred
Experience with PPAP is essential
Experience with welding/fabrication would be an advantage
Further experience with PLC’s/Electronics would be beneficial

You must have Audio Electronics experience, High Speed Electronics or very closely related experience
Degree in electronics or associated engineering subject
1-2 years’ experience of electronic and/or mechanical design in a consumer audio or electronics environment
A demonstrable aptitude for electronics. Will have been interested in consumer electronics and circuitry, or mechanical construction/design as a hobby or in a previous role
Knowledge of CAD PCB design
Experience / Knowledge Used to working to tight deadlines, excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent numerical and analytical skills
Someone with a passion for music / musical instrument would be advantageous
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
The input and modification of electronics schematics, with guidance from the Chief Engineer
The input and modification of PCB artworks using CAD, with guidance from the Chief Engineer
Building and testing of prototypes
Sourcing components for prototype production and testing
Writing and performing new product tests and recording/presenting results
Managing the approvals of products to international standards

Duties for the role of Engineering Manager include:
Oversee and manage all the utilities and support services (all boilers, all compressors, air systems, all water systems, water towers, central vac systems, material expanders, vessels, material tanks, ovens, chimneys and sprinkler systems)
Arrange and oversee Pat tests of equipment
Arrange and oversee earth bonding in all areas
Support on electrical projects and machine panels
Communicate and report monthly, all developments and improvements on energy savings or waste from equipment
Manage the security of the site, including buildings, plant and equipment.
Drive and ensure compliance including ISO and Health & Safety Management Systems.
Work closely with site safety and environment officers so we are up to date on all activities, legionaries’ readings, risks assessments and insurances checks etc.
We will also be keen to talk too Facilities Managers, Engineering Supervisors, Facilities Engineers who would like to become a Manager in the future. This is a great role for an Engineering Manager with experience with facilities who prioritise Health and Safety, assess risks and take required action.
