Role Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer. Candidate Requirements
- The Manufacturing Process Engineer will be minimum HND Qualified with a desired 2+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience.
- Strong knowledge and skills in the use of process development tools is preferred. Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence Tools/Lean Manufacturing and Methodologies.
- Good interpersonal, communication, planning and organizational skills, with ability to make and implement decisions.
- Knowledge of CNC controlled equipment and machine code/programming whilst not essential would be an advantage along with strong equipment fault-finding, troubleshooting capability.
- Managing implementation of projects, technology transfer and manufacturing support systems. A hands-on approach is essential, with ownership of products and processes.
- Must be a team player with good communication skills, written and verbal. Self-motivated striving to find lean solutions to improvements and issues.
- Has experience of conduct validation and process transfers for equipment, from conception through to Implementation.
- Has developed and submitted justification for capital equipment projects, with a proven track-record of supporting other plant personnel in process improvement & project management.
Manufacturing Process Engineer Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
- The Manufacturing Process Engineer develops, maintains, and ensures compliance with process control plans, quality assurance plans, and procedures.
- Assist in resolution of manufacturing issues and gives feedback for improvements in manufacturability. Plans and conducts activities related to the development of new processes including researching current and emerging technologies, evaluating process cost, quality, and capability alternatives, and performing process characterization and optimization using problem-solving and decision-making tools.
- Facilitates technology transfer from process development to manufacturing processes for new product introductions, lead and coordinate all activities for modifications of existing processes, prepare process development protocols and coordinate all activities related to their execution, whilst practicing good project management & cost control.
- Facilitates communication and relevant training activities and act as liaison between colleagues and other leaders at the site, ensuring that the performance and quality of products conform to established standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Provide day to day Manufacturing Engineering support for the workshop, identifying and initiating process improvements in conjunction with the Production Management team.
- Work with production, to build and ensure product quality and process capability is delivered, with the ability to conduct operational (Time & Motion) studies to maximize workflow and spatial utilisation.

- The Design Engineer will need a strong mechanical bias, ideally coming from an automotive background (but not essential).
- Able to apply your fabrication skills to the bespoke design of various products.
