The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for and hold the following experience:  


The purpose of the role is to provide engineering support to a dedicated range, responding to unplanned and planned process opportunities, independently troubleshooting and continuously improving the process to improve PR (efficiency and quality). 

  • Reporting key information in Engineering DMS review. 
  • Working with PPI and Production department to establish and improve DTM activities. 
  • Coaching and mentoring of Production Associates through DTM activity.  
  • Liaise and work with Reliability engineers on key projects associated to the range.  
  • Review and improvement of PM system linked to range.   
  • Establish and conduct line audits for key equipment.  
  • Assist a wider engineering team during MPS activities associated with the range (spare parts, lubrication, zero loss etc.). 
  • Take a lead on shutdown activity related to the range.  
  • Mechanical ‘call out support’ for range. (Grade 2 only)
  • Responsible for understanding ‘the why’ when we have mechanical breakdowns and delivering solutions to prevent reoccurrence 
  • Document abnormalities within the CMMS system and undertake the repair or liaise with the planner to schedule
  • Previous experience within a Similar position is key. 
  • Experienced within a FMCG / Manufacturing Plant. 
  • Must be Apprentice trained holding formal qualifications in mechanical engineering.

  • Report any problems regarding equipment and machinery immediately to the Engineering Team Leader.
  • Ensure that you are aware of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and that you always adhere to them.
  • Complete Maintenance work orders, use of a CMMS system, Agility or similar
  • Experience with pneumatic & hydraulic equipment & systems
  • Knowledge of high-pressure steam boilers and systems
  • Welding skills such as MMA, TIG, MIG
  • General workshop skills, tools, lathe, milling etc.
  • Able to read schematic drawings
  • Some multi skilling would be advantageous
  • Ideally you will be Apprentice trained holding a HNC / City & guilds Level 3 in Mechanical engineering.
