Toolmaker Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain tooling
  • Working on press tools from single blank tools to complex multi-stage progressions all to fine tolerances. 
  • Support Setters
  • Managing the try-out process
  • Problem solving on tooling problems
  • Strip and rebuild tools for maintenance and re-grind
  • Promoting 5S

Toolmaker Requirements:

  • Ideally Apprentice trained.
  • To have previous experience of presstools, such as single blank to progression tooling
  • Ideally, you will have gained your experience within a high volume environment
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • The ability to read engineering drawings
  • Happy to work perm late shift – 3.30pm – 1.30am
  • A friendly, sociable personality would fit in with the rest of the team

As a Process Engineer the purpose of the role is: 

  • Deliver NPI projects on-time, to specification and budget.
  • Continuous reporting to client and internally. 
  • Assisting in implementing solutions to technical issues. 
  • Conduct tool design reviews with toolmakers. 
  • Manage budgets and purchase from vendors. 
  • Hand over all documents, tools and SOPs to the appropriate teams. 

Key skills required for the Project Engineer:

  • Degree / HNC or equivalent in an engineering or science discipline (will consider long term experience)
  • Deliver the project to schedule and budget independently. 
  • Experience with press tooling in design or manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of contracts and commercial awareness.
  • Able to decipher technical drawings efficiently.
  • Use of Microsoft project software.

Skills/Experience for a Project Engineer:

  • Understanding of our manufacturing process – press / stamping, laser cutting, press brake, MIG welding, projection welding, machining and mechanical assembly.
  • Know how to work with automation equipment. 
  • CAD and SolidWords experience preferred.
  • Able to use basic measuring equipment’s (calipers, micrometer, height gauge)
  • Understanding of ISO 9000 and IATF 16949

Role Overview

The business is looking to recruit a Senior Electronics Engineer to support the continuing growth of their design department.  The role will involve providing technical guidance to other members of the Electronics Design team, working alongside other engineering disciplines, designing hardware and embedded software to extend the businesses product range.

Candidate Requirements

  • The Senior Electronics Engineer will hold a degree or similar qualification in Electronics Engineering or a comparable subject.
  • Proven experience in embedded firmware design, development, and testing would be a huge advantage, along with, firmware unit, integration, and system testing.
  • Solid experience in electronics hardware design, development, and testing; including PCB schematic design and layout.
  • The Senior Electronics Engineer will have EMC design and test experience.
  • New product development, and design validation process – FMEA, DFM. 
  • Creation of supporting design documentation, development reports, BoM, build packs.
  • Experience of electronics design within a highly regulated industry, with experience of working with third party approval/certification bodies.
  • Experience in architecture design and architecture design tools, with a familiarity of machinery safety standards or similar.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Senior Electronics Engineer will be a lead electronics resource for the business.  
  • Identify areas of improvement and assist implementing new processes.
  • Design and maintenance of hardware and embedded software for use within company products.

An Estimator with steel experience, is required to join a continually growing, reputable structural company. 

This person must be familiar with and fully comply with the requirements of the company’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems. You will be required to perform all the necessary functions required to fulfil the duties of a Steelwork Estimator including but not limited to the below:

The main works the Steelwork Estimator must be able to undertake is steelwork platforms, walkways, access ways complete with stairs, handrails, etc, structural buildings and cladding, rail, constructions, rail, MOD, utilities, nuclear.

Essential Skills of the Steelwork Estimator

  • Proven estimating experience within steelwork / metalwork / fabrication.
  • Technical knowledge of structural designs and materials for relevant industries
  • Good level of numeracy and grammar
  • Detailed knowledge of all relevant Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements
  • Time management skills enabling multiple tender enquiry management
  • Commercial awareness of the goals of the company
  • Ability to seek out additional project work
  • Excellent phone manner both internal and external
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office particularly Excel
  • Competent user of Exchequer system 
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Disciplined approach to administration of documentation

Key Responsibilities

  • The Steelwork Estimator will review technical drawings and initial scope of works for all enquiries.
  • Ensure all relevant industry standards and procedures are available for enquiries.
  • Develop a bill of quantity for all steelwork and associated products within a given tender.
  • Forecast fabrication, metal finish and installation requirements of projects.
  • Ensure any formal programs for the project received from customers are filed with tenders, to allow successful project management.
  • Consider all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems requirements for tenders.
  • Produce final tender documents including full cost base and scope of works.
  • Update the Enquiry Management Access database with all relevant information.
  • Make projects live on Exchequer when orders are confirmed.
  • Store tender related documents on the T: drive within the customer related directories.
  • Liaising with clients to confirm works and attending sites to complete surveys when necessary.
  • Agreeing specifications of work with clients and making adequate notes to enable the manufacture and installation of projects.
  • Periodically contacting customers to chase up tender acceptance.

Candidate Requirements

  • Knowledge of Food Safety and Hygiene procedures.
  • Organised and motivated to move the department forward.
  • The Health and Safety Manager will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work within all levels of the organisation.
  • Good working knowledge of current health and safety legislation and the requirements this imposes on a business.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Health and Safety Manager will champion Health and Safety throughout the Business.
  • Undertake health and safety risk assessments on general business activities, the use of machinery and hazardous substance.
  • Create and review safe systems of work and procedures for health and safety.
  • Coordinate accident and near miss investigation processes.
  • Review, update and maintain the sites Health and Safety policy in line with legislation.
  • Coordinate the supply and issuing of PPE.
  • Create and lead worker Health and Safety forums.
  • Site Health and Safety audits and act on the outcome of these audits.
  • Carry out reviews and give Health and Safety guidance on any project undertaken by the business.
  • Work towards an ISO Health and Safety accreditation.
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation.
  • Deliver health and safety training and briefings to staff.
  • Co-ordinate the occupational health programme.

  • Holding a formal qualification in Engineering
