We are seeking to recruit a proven Maintenance Engineer (Shift Engineer) to join a busy fast paced manufacturing plant that supply globally. You will be based on site working a 3-shift system and there will be an induction phase of up to 2 months where you will be working morning and afternoons rotation until familiar with the site. The goal is to continue the shift from a reactive approach (fixing problems as they occur) to a proactive one (preventing problems before they happen). This not only improves efficiency but also helps achieve business targets.

You must be time served with a mechanical maintenance Apprenticeship (minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent). Practical working experience in Manufacturing/Industrial Environments. Some duties for the Maintenance Engineer may include:

  • Welding & Fabrication – MIG, TIG, and arc welding; metal fabrication and repairs.
  • Machine Shop Skills – Lathe operation, milling, grinding, drilling, and general machining.
  • Hydraulics – Fault-finding, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, and actuators.
  • Pneumatics – Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pneumatic circuits, compressors, and control valves.
  • Mechanical Fitting & Assembly – Bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, motors, chains, and belts.
  • Planned & Reactive Maintenance – Conducting routine servicing and emergency repairs to minimise downtime.

The role of Maintenance Engineer is commutable from Derby, Nottingham, Mansfield, and Chesterfield.

  • Any experience with CMM would be an advantage
  • Haas operation experience would be a significant advantage

Duties of a Maintenance Engineer

Key Duties for the Calibration Engineer:

Requirements of the Calibration Engineer: 

To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria: 

  • Minimum Engineering Apprentice trained NVQ3 
  • Proficiency in using calibration equipment and understanding measurement standards is crucial.
  • Experience in calibration labs, testing, or related sectors is highly valuable.
  • Proficiency in using calibration equipment and understanding measurement standards is crucial.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards ISO9001.
  • Experience with calibration development tools and software is beneficial.

This role is commutable from Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Tamworth.

 

This will be an opportunity for a qualified Maintenance Electrician to join an established Manufacturing / Textiles organisation with a proven record of providing quality products.   • Experience in an engineering maintenance or service role is essential. 
  • Holding fault finding abilities with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC’s 
  • Excellent fault -finding skills are crucial, especially; motor drives, temperature controllers, able to fault find on PLC and other control systems.
  • Competent in mechanical repairs
  • Experience carrying out preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to facilitate repairs under pressure.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to situations as they occur.
  • Able to work in a team and independently.
  • IT literate; including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook,), Gradus CMMS system.
  • Familiar with building maintenance tasks

  • Educated to HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Extensive Electrical knowledge 18th Edition 
  • Full valid UK Driving Licence
