Role Responsibilities:

  • Hands on inspection of manufactured components for medical devices.
  • Uphold responsibility for the quality of released and incoming products.
  • Management of metrology and CMM programming.
  • Maintaining, qualifying, and calibrating the inspection process.
  • Perform root cause investigation to address non-conformances.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Supplier and in house auditing.
  • Manage and ensure that training modules are completed in time.

Skills Required:

  • Qualifications in quality (Quality Inspector/Quality Technician) engineering or science to degree level (preferred)
  • Experience in a quality related role.
  • Ability to inspect and measure produced parts (with experience)
  • Experience of ISO 13485 or ISO 9001
  • Internal auditor qualification (preferred)
  • Medical device manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to communicate and liaise with different departments to ensure highest standard of quality and parts.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Conduct both internal IATF, quality & process audits
  • Support the engineering change process through weekly meetings and be responsible for APQP requirements.
  • Support annual testing schedule for all our products using an external laboratory. 
  • Support NPI
  • Control and manage internal non-conforming parts/supplier rejects, system and non-conforming material area 
  • Support with new projects throughout the APQP process as plant quality representative. 
  • Support the other departments with 8D resolution of quality issues
  • Scrap reduction
  • Control and manage the calibration schedule of all internal equipment through internal inspections & external calibration services. 
  • Support manufacturing, co-ordinate internal product/process improvement. •
  • Monitor internal scrap and help conduct scrap improvement activities with the plant team. • 
  • Manage supplier certificates of conformity documentation, monitoring and recording data submitted. 

Quality Engineer Duties:

  • Quality Engineering experience
  • Proven problem-solving abilities using 8D, PPAP’s and APQP
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and IATF16949
  • Auditor /Lead Auditor qualification desirable
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, such as 5S and Poke Yoke
  • To have the ability to form strong working relationships
