Probe Technical are looking to recruit a permanent Industrial Control Panel Wirer to be based at a business in Worcester. They are a lovely small firm which are extremely busy. You will be responsible for ensuring the precise installation of electrical wiring and associated materials to schematic and engineering drawings. 

The package details for the role of Panel Wirer include the below and further at interview:

  • £30,000 (negotiable) 
  • Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm (30 mins unpaid lunch) 
  • Standard Pension 
  • 20 + Bank Holidays 
  • There is overtime on offer but paid at the normal rate 

You must have a minimum 3-year previous experience building & wiring panels. Good numeracy and literacy skills. BS7671 18th edition desirable.

Other key duties and experience for the Panel Wirer role involve:  

  • Perform panel layout, assemble components into panel.
  • Wiring panels.
  • Read, interpret and work from schematic / engineering drawings / instructions from engineers
  • Site based installations and Panel modifications
  • Undertaking all relevant tasks along with general housekeeping duties.
  • Occasional site visits for trouble shooting, repairs or installation.

DUTIES

  • Lead PMPs from concept through to commissioning, ensuring all necessary hazard assessments and HAZOP studies are completed.
  • Define the scope and depth of hazard assessments, perform engineering calculations, develop testing programmes, and revise designs based on findings.
  • Initiate and chair HAZOPs, maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date risk assessment records.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Engineering to develop plant layouts, costings, and proposals for project authorisation.
  • Provide expert chemical engineering input to Process Improvement Groups, project teams, and the Research Department for both new and existing process routes.
  • Advise engineers, customers, contractors, and consultants on design, safety, construction materials, and processing techniques.
  • Act as Project Leader on designated projects, with responsibility for design, budget, performance, and delivery to agreed targets.
  • Organise design and commissioning work and resource planning to meet Production budget requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering (essential).
  • You must be able to demonstrate Significant industrial experience in a relevant field, such as Chemical manufacturing
  • Development and optimisation of chemical processes.
  • Hands-on plant commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with DSEAR methodology and implementation.
  • Knowledge of SIL and LOPA risk assessments.
  • Relief system design and DIERS methodology expertise.
