Responsibilities:

  • Install and develop systems to support testing
  • Process improvement of testing
  • Planning new test facilities
  • Conducting tests
  • Constructing test cells

Requirements:

  • Experience and knowledge of test cells 
  • Either internal combustion or electric motors
  • Apprentice trained
  • Borad knowledge of engine manufacturing and investigations

  • Or, you may enjoy “hands-on” test of engines, and investigations
  • IT literate

Metrology Engineer Responsibilities

  • Performing precise measurements and aligning intricate components according to customer specifications
  • Ensuring adherence to high-quality standards 
  • Interpreting customer drawings and defining measurement report formats.
  • Programming automated CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programs.
  • Understanding of SPC and R&R
  • Collaborating with the Project team to fulfil measurement requirements for PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) approval.
  • Conducting dimensional investigations to support engineering teams. 
  • Implementing 5S principles 
  • Carry our Hardness tests (Vickers hardness testers)
  • An understanding of GD7T

Metrology Engineer Requirements

  • To have the ability to program CMM machines.
  • Ideally Axel or PC-DIMIS, or Metrolog or Camio
  • Proven experience of using GD&T
  • To have the ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Experience of using Vickers hardness tester
