A Busy Midlands based Manufacturing organisation, have a role available for a Metrology Engineer.

Our location is conveniently commutable from Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, Minworth, Coleshill, Birmingham, Moseley, Solihull, Coventry, Tyesley, Tamworth and Aldridge

Metrology Engineer Responsibilities

  • Performing precise measurements and aligning intricate components according to customer specifications
  • Ensuring adherence to high-quality standards 
  • Interpreting customer drawings and defining measurement report formats.
  • Programming automated CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programs.
  • Understanding of SPC and R&R
  • Collaborating with the Project team to fulfil measurement requirements for PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) approval.
  • Conducting dimensional investigations to support engineering teams. 
  • Implementing 5S principles 
  • Carry our Hardness tests (Vickers hardness testers)
  • An understanding of GD7T

Metrology Engineer Requirements

  • To have the ability to program CMM machines.
  • Ideally Axel or PC-DIMIS, or Metrolog or Camio
  • Proven experience of using GD&T
  • To have the ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Experience of using Vickers hardness tester
