RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operating, setting and programming CNC machines (3, 4 & 5 axis)
  • Using Hypermill CAM software to bring complex parts to life
  • Working with a range of materials to tight tolerances
  • Problem-solving, fine-tuning, and maybe even showing the robots who's boss
  • Collaborating with engineers, designers, and occasionally people who call all machines "that spinny thing"

REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid experience in a CNC setting/operating/programming role
  • Proficient in Hypermill CAM software – you're the go-to, not the Googler
  • A keen eye for detail (you notice when a drawing is 0.01mm off)
  • Ability to work independently on a dayshift with a strong sense of ownership
  • Bonus points if you can make the tea and program a 5-axis mill at the same time
  • Day shift only – your evenings are your own!

The Engineering Department is a vital division within the business's overall operations, responsible for ensuring that all machinery and processes remain fully functional. This role supports the Operations team by maintaining the seamless execution of key processes, implementing lean methodologies, and driving continuous efficiency improvements across the business.

As our Process Engineer, you will be key to understanding all the processes and driving OEE improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Labour efficiency reduction initiatives.
  • Optimising production cell layouts and introducing SOPs and lean methodologies.
  • Enhancing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Supporting the Quality team in rolling out the 5S program.
  • Optimising cycle times
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all processes
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 
  • Optimise the layout of all designated production cells and processes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant Process Engineering experience
  • You will have gained your experience from within manufacturing, ideally high volume
  • Engineering Qualifications to support experience
  • Excellent knowledge of labour efficiency improvements and reductions
  • Previous experience of driving OEE and process improvement

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with Quality on analysis of waste
  • Ensure all packaged process waste are managed and disposed in accordance with UK legislation

  • Precision Assembly & Dismantling – Regrind parts, replace tooling punches & dies, and restore tools to full functionality.

  • Assisting press shop setters to keep tools in production and avoid unnecessary downtime.
