Job Description
A great opportunity has arisen for a Field Based Machine Tool Service Engineer to join a growing company. My client is a leader in the supplying of CNC systems, Machine tooling and Automation.
Due to rising demand, they are now looking for a service engineer to join their fantastic team.
You will also be involved in machine preparation at their showroom, so will ideally live with a 70-mile radius of Finham. If this job sounds appealing to you, please read on.
Maintenance Engineer Benefits:
- £40,000 – Depending on experience.

Maintenance Engineer Duties:
- 40 Hour working week. (subject to requirements)
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC equipment, machining tools and automation systems.
- Identifying technical Issues and rectifying in an efficient manner.
- Attend breakdowns.
- Manage records and job recordings including PPM and parts usage.
- Fault finding.
Maintenance Engineer Requirements:
- HNC In Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. (or equivalent experience)
- Previous experience as a Field based Tool Service Engineer or Similar role.
- Knowledge of machine tool operation, automation, and CNC systems.
- Experience troubleshooting Electrical, Mechanical and Hydraulic systems/
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

Role Overview
The control & instrumental hardware engineer will design, development, and commissioning of control systems, including variable speed motors and drives, PLC based test systems, P&ID diagrams.
You should be experienced in in electrical CAD design and creating high quality project documentation to deliver exceptional solutions for customers.
This role will see you assist with commissioning of systems both in-house and at customer sites within UK and internationally.
Control & Instrumentation Hardware Engineer Key Requirements
- Degree / NVQ level 5 or equivalent engineering qualification.
- 2 years designing (electrical CAD) & developing C&I systems.
- PLC Programming (Siemens Step 7 / TIA Portal / Controllogix / Beckhoff PLC / Codesys desirable)
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g. ProfiNET, CAN)
- Industrial wiring and switchgear, Industrial sensors e.g. encoders, transducers for pressure, flow, temperature etc.
- Understanding of UK electrical legislation UKCA, CE, UL, CSA
- Safety standards ISO 13849, IEC 61508
