Job Description
Probe Technical are looking to recruit a full time and permanent Maintenance Electrician to join an experienced and dedicated Engineering team near Wellingborough on a Monday – Friday day shift with a 37.5-hour week. The ideal candidate will provide both mechanical and electrical service to the Production Department in terms of maintaining machines and site services to achieve minimal downtime as well as reduced engineering costs.
The package details for the role of Maintenance Electrician include the below and further at interview:
- Salary from £40,000+
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
- 3% / 5% pension on Auto enrolment
- 24 days holiday + Bank Holidays
- Premium overtime rates
Along with a HNC in electrical or electronic engineering and training in 17th / 18th Edition IEE wiring regulations, or equivalent. You must be a multi-skilled engineer with Electrical bias with either print/packaging / FMCG / food experience. Experience of PLC’s (programming and fault-finding), process controls and AC / DC and Servo drives.
Other key duties for the Maintenance Electrician role involve:
- Undertake work of any kind as directed by the Engineering Supervisor
- Work on both mechanical and electrical plant and carry out installation work.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance to reduce future unplanned downtime.
- Respond to unplanned breakdowns, ensuring downtime is minimised.
- Undertake facilities maintenance where necessary.
- Supervise sub-contractors where necessary.
The Maintenance Electrician role is commutable from Northampton, Daventry, Lutterworth and Coventry

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create new product designs from concept through to production
- Conduct design changes to existing products
- Attend NPI meetings
- Working with a wide range of materials, such as plastic injection mould, castings and metals
- This is a multi-dimensional role, with a range of projects on the go, at any one time
- Working closely with customers and suppliers
- Drive cost reduction projects
- BOM and Part creation, drawing revision and Issues control
- Familiar with computer simulation and modelling programs
- If experienced, review Design Engineers work
REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant Qualifications to support experience- ideally, to Degree level
- It is essential that you have exposure to 3D & “D CAD, such as Solidworks or CATIA
- Ideally, you will have gained your experience from within a manufacturing environment
- Good knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Knowledge of diecast, moulded, pressed or machined parts would be advantageous
- This would suit a friendly, sociable character
- To have the ability to work on a n umber of projects at any one time
- Keen eye for detail
- To have the ability build relationships

Electro Plating Technician Required
Are you an Electro Plating Technician who is looking to step up their career to Technician level, this could be just the job for you! This is a unique working environment, with lots of new investment going into this facility.
Producing components for a variety of different industry sectors, this lends a huge amount of stability to this business.
Working Days, with always a lunchtime finish on Fridays, this is a great opportunity for an experienced Electro Plater, to join a friendly, supportive team. You may either experienced with Electroplating, or Nitriding will also be considered.
You will be reporting to the Production Manager and you will be given responsibility for the operation of the Tin Plating Line process. Ensuring full compliance with Health and Safety, with strong attention to detail, this is a super opportunity.

Responsibilities of Electro Plating Technician
- Responsibility for operating of the Tin Plating Line process
- Ensure the process produces the highest quality product
- Trouble shoot new plating techniques and drive process performance improvements
- Analyse of production data and engineering runs
- Optimise the plating process
- Quality checks by use of Xray machines, Pero washing
- Operating and programming furnaces
- 5S
- Loading and unloading furnaces
- Establish process controls
- Cost and scrap reduction
Requirements for Electro Plating Technician
- Experience of electroplating in a production environment
- Nitriding experience readily consdidered
- Previous experience of setting up and sustaining electrochemistry equipment
- Experience of trouble shoot new plating techniques and driving process performance improvements
- Handson knowledge of chemical development and electrochemical processes
- FLT licence – Counter Balance would be beneficial
- Previous experience of measuring equipment and chemicals
- IT Literate
- This would suit someone who enjoys being part of a team, with strong communication skills
