Toolmaker Hours, Pay and Benefits

  • Salary £40,000 (including shift allowance)
  • Working hours. There are two options: 10:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday or 2:00pm -10:00pm Monday to Friday
  • 25 days holiday, plus statutory
  • Sick pay based on length of service, up to 24 weeks

Toolmaker Role Purpose 

The Toolmaker will repair and service the moulding machine tools, and related equipment, in a timely and efficient manner.

Commutable From: Leicester, Corby, Peterborough, and Grantham. 

Candidate Requirements

  • Time served toolmaker – for insurance purposes, Apprenticeship / Qualifications have to be from the UK
  • Proven Injection Mould / Plastics experience. 
  • Electrical experience is an advantage but not a necessity.
  • Experienced in the operation of toolmaking equipment, eg grinders, lathes, machining.
  • CNC Machining centre experience an advantage.
  • A base understanding on pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Ability to understand technical drawings.
  • Computer literate.

Toolmaker Key Responsibilities

  • Build, repair and maintain tooling
  • Work to fine tolerances
  • Prove tooling and troubleshoot until running acceptably - target to enable the tools to run "right first-time" in a production environment
  • Able to understand technical drawings
  • Liaise with operational staff to understand tooling related issues
  • Maintenance of machinery on site
  • General tool making tasks
  • To be flexible in a “breakdown” scenario
 

This will be an opportunity for a qualified Maintenance Electrician to join an established Manufacturing / Textiles organisation with a proven record of providing quality products. Offering stability and a supportive work environment, you will be joining an established team on site who can support your transition into the organisation.

Shift requirements for the Maintenance Electrician: 

Days – Monday to Thursday 8am till 16.45pm / Friday 7am till 15:00pm

Ideally the Maintenance Electrician will hold the following experience: 

  • Experience in an engineering maintenance or service role is essential. 
  • Holding fault finding abilities with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC’s 
  • Excellent fault -finding skills are crucial, especially; motor drives, temperature controllers, able to fault find on PLC and other control systems.
  • Competent in mechanical repairs
  • Experience carrying out preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to facilitate repairs under pressure.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to situations as they occur.
  • Able to work in a team and independently.
  • IT literate; including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook,), Gradus CMMS system.
  • Familiar with building maintenance tasks
  • Apprentice trained. 
  • Educated to HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Extensive Electrical knowledge 18th Edition 
  • Full valid UK Driving Licence
  • Flexible – as you may be required to travel to alternative sites on occasions within the Cheshire Area, Expenses Covered. 

The Maintenance electrician role is commutable from the following locations: Stockport / Stoke-On-Trent / Macclesfield

Senior Vehicle Technician Role Overview

  • The Senior Vehicle Technician will specialise in customer vehicle adaptations for their specific needs.

  • The role is primarily based at their Workshop in Peterborough, but there will be an occasional requirement to carry out installations at customers houses or car dealerships in the branch area.

Senior Vehicle Technician Candidate Requirements

  • Experienced automotive mechanic or engineer, with a recognized qualification in motor vehicle mechanics

  • Have a strong ability to provide excellent customer service

Senior Vehicle Technician Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional installation service for all of the company products
  • Deal with customers in a friendly and helpful manner
  • Work to a weekly and daily schedule of work
  • Conduct on-site training/guidance for new customers
  • Provide Technical support for installers
  • Liaise with clients, sales, engineering and manufacturing colleagues
  • Contribute to on-site training for distributers
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard
  • Confirm to all health and safety practices
 

Probe Technical are looking to recruit a full time and permanent Maintenance Electrician to join an experienced and dedicated Engineering team near Corby on a permanent night shift working Sunday to Thursday, 22.00-06.00. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to utilise their engineering skills and join a privately owned global business. As well as being focused on continuous improvement and implementing specific products, as a Maintenance Electrician you will also be responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the buildings and grounds areas of the plant facility.

The package details for the role of Maintenance Electrician include the below and further at interview:

  • Salary £50,000 (including shift allowance)
  • 40 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday, 22.00-06.00
  • 3% paid via salary sacrifice, saving you tax and NI contributions
  • 20 days plus bank holidays, rising to 25 plus bank holidays after 5 years’ service
  • Death in service benefit – 2 x annual salary
  • An annual pay review is conducted every January

Along with a minimum NVQ Level 3 or higher in Engineering Maintenance or equivalent, as a Maintenance Electrician you will be required to have experience/further education in engineering. Experience of PLC systems for fault finding and minor programming modifications. Experience using and installing Variable Speed Drives VSD’s within an FMCG environment is beneficial. 
Other key duties involve:  

  • Maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Identifying, diagnosing and fixing faults and breakdowns.
  • Carrying out of planned Preventative Maintenance.
  • Facilitating and executing continuous improvement activities.
