Maintenance Electrician

Shift: Days Only - 8am till 5pm (Call out system in place) Call out is week on week off, Call out is paid at £25 / breakdown plus wages at time and a half

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Electrically Biased 70/30 Split

Shift: Perm Nights - 10pm till 6am

A position has become available for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer / Electrically Biased to join a leading organisation based in the Liverpool location.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you would be expected to assist in the smooth running of the factory ensuring that the business needs and targets are met at all times by providing effective electrical/mechanical maintenance support and adhering to a plant maintenance program.  The candidate would be time served and electrical biased 70/30 split, have an ONC or higher, 17th edition and experience with pneumatics and hydraulics, any experience in the food industry would be an advantage.

Duties:

  • To carry out all physical and visual checks on site machinery as required.
  • Carry out PPM’s issued by the engineering manager.
  • Attend to machine breakdowns and solve/diagnose any mechanical / electrical failures.
  • Carry out repairs, upgrades and installations throughout the factory.
  • Keep downtime to a minimum.
  • To carry out system checks as required.
  • To update spares list and monitor stock levels.
  • Undertake all duties safely and in accordance with the Company Health & Safety policy and Hygiene policy.
  • Provide accurate information and regular progress updates as required by management.
  • Work to the ‘5 S Standards’ and lean manufacturing.
  • Undertake any training as required and ensure working knowledge is kept current.
  • Keep accurate records of all testing, checks, observations as required.
  • Carry out pre-start checks and ensure efficient start-up of production plant.
  • Provide Engineering cover to suit the demands of the business.

Maintenance Electrician 

The right Maintenance Electrician will hold:

  • Install and or maintain all electrical & electro-mechanical plant or machinery in line with Company requirements.
  • Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system to ensure that the plant & machinery is in good working order.
  • Fault find and repair any electrical or electro-mechanical related problems on the plant or equipment.
  • Fault Find Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC equipment.
  • Ensure that all plant and machinery is kept in a good working and clean condition.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork associated with the task being performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Report any problems regarding equipment and machinery immediately to the Engineering Team Leader.
  • Ensure that you are aware of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and that you adhere to them at all times.
  • Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve efficiency.
  • Cooperate with supervision and fellow employees.
  • Complete Maintenance Work requests

This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a Maintenance Engineering team with our FMCG production client based between Telford and Stafford to work alternate AM and PM shifts Monday – Friday, rotating on a weekly basis.

Duties:

In the role of Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer you will be undertaking breakdown and preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment, components, and installations in a high speed FMCG production environment. You will take part in a weekly rotating shift pattern working 39 hours per week. Hours of work will be rotating AM Shift 6am – 2pm and PM shift 2pm – 10pm Mon – Friday.

Requirements:

To apply for this role of Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will need to hold a relevant Engineering qualification such as City & Guilds and will ideally be Apprentice trained. The Return on offer:
