Shift in place for the Maintenance engineer: Monday to Friday – 6am till 4pm  

Key Responsibilities the Maintenance Engineer:   

  • To work as part of the Maintenance team as a mechanically focused technician with some multi-skilled experience. The position will be responsible for providing mechanical expertise, carrying out repairs on plant equipment in a timely and efficient manner and ensuring equipment is safe and fit for purpose. The position holder will be responsible for safety permits where required and to provide first line supervision for all contactor activity. 
  • To provide mechanical support to the maintenance department in order to carry out repairs on all plant equipment. 
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment on site is both mechanically and electrically safe. 
  • Carry out other support maintenance work when required. 
  • Carrying out repairs on the following Kit: Pumps / Conveyor systems / Gearboxes / Hydraulics & Pneumatics.
  • Ideally holding experience within Chemical or Heavy engineering. 
  • We are looking for an Apprentice trained Maintenance engineer. 
  • Holding a formal qualification in Mechanical engineering. 
  • Flexibility is key – a Motivated individual who is keen to take on over time.

Duties of a Maintenance Technician

As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

Duties of a Machine Tool Maintenance Fitter

  • Working with a team of Maintenance Engineers you will be required to undertake both planned and reactive multi skilled maintenance activities across our plant. 

Requirements of a Machine Tool Maintenance Fitter

You must hold formal mechanical qualifications (and ideally be apprentice trained too), with proven experience as a Maintenance / Machine Tool Fitter supporting plant and equipment within a robust manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.  

The role is commutable from Blackheath, Cradley Heath, Halesowen, Rowley Regis & Woodgate Valley

  • Programme, set and run a variety of CNC machines and controls
  • Working  from engineering drawings and CAD files, with a variety of different materials and manufacturing processes
  • Using CNC and manual machinery plus a variety of hand tools
  • Machines on site are:- vertical milling machines, Bridgeport vertical milling centres, Colchester tornedo turning, Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, and Hass
  • Set, Operate and Programme CNC milling / and or turning machines

CNC Setter Operator Programmer Requirements:

  • To have previous experience of setting, operating and programming CNC machines
  • Ideally, exposure to milling and / or turning machines
  • Bridgeport, Colchester, Fanuc, Siemens, Hass and / or Heidenhain but not essential
  • To have the ability to read engineering drawings
  • Knowledge  of CADCAM would be beneficial
  • Exposure to use of measuring tools, such as callipers and micrometres
  • A good understanding of feeds and speeds
  • This will suit a helpful, pleasant, and friendly natured individual
  • Happy working days with a 12 Noon Friday finish
