Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Experienced Maintenance Manager to join a Manufacturing Specialist within the Greater Manchester Area. Joining forces with the Operation Manager, you will be responsible for an established Maintenance Team.

The Maintenance Manager will be required to work: 8am till 4:30pm
Being responsible for 6 Maintenance engineers – Electrical & Mechanical.

Key Responsibilities the Maintenance Manager:
To ensure that all activities associated with the Maintenance team are carried out in compliance to legislation and company standards for Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality. Liaise with departments to support the effective running of production.
To ensure the effectiveness of the Maintenance Department and team, contribute to decision-making process to achieve higher standards in associated field of activities. Act as an advocate for improvement and change across all engineering functions at all levels.
To promote a positive environment which engineering is seen by management, employees, neighbours, customers, and other off-site agencies as being fundamental to the company’s day to day operations. Ensure policies, programmes, systems, procedures, and registrations are developed and maintained to meet company and regulatory requirements.
Day to Day Requirements:
- Support the effective running of production.
- Attend Management meetings as and when required.
- Regular review of production schedule with Planning Manager to identify planned maintenance opportunities.
- Ensure the Maintenance Management Software is updated and utilised effectively and in the absence of the Engineering Coordinator is resourced efficiently.
- Manage calibration, testing schedules and associated record keeping.
- Manage all engineering regulatory inspection schedules and associated documentation for compliance to the standards required and associated record keeping.
- Regular review of production schedule with Planning Manager to identify planned maintenance opportunities.
- Ideally, we are looking for a Multi-Skilled Split. Electrical and Mechanical Knowledge.
- Holding a Formal qualification in Engineering – Level 3
- Previous experience within a management role.
- Previous experience within a Chemical Plant or Heavy engineering.

Duties:

Requirements:

- Experience with 3,4 & 5 AXIS vertical machining.
- Knowledge of operating CMM Machines
- Practical experience of manufacturing techniques
- Previous experience in Operating a CNC / CMM Machines (FANUC & MAZAK)
- Checking of drawing where required when using CMM Machines
- Time Served Engineer
- Holding a formal qualification in Engineering
- Previous Team-leader / Supervisory is Key to the role.
- £28,000 - £35,000 + Overtime, Pension
CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator (Milling or Turning)
Due to an expansion, we are now recruiting for several roles! We offer a good variety of job roles, A good level of experience would be ideal but not overly required as some training can be provided. Roles include both manual work and machining (see below)
Salary/Benefits and Night Shifts for CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator
- Starting salary at £28,000 up to £35,000 (DOE)
- Company pension with a total weekly contribution of 8%.
- Health and Safety bonus system every 6 months for qualified individuals.
- Overtime paid at time 1/3 + Sundays paid at time 1/2.
- Monday to Thursday 8am – 4:30pm – Friday: 8am – 1am

- Manual Vertical Borers Setter/Operators (Turning)
- Manual Horizontal Borers Setter/Operators (Milling)
- CNC Horizontal Borer Setter/Operator/Programmer
- CNC Elgamill Setter/Operator/Programmer
Requirements for CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator
Manual:
- Have experience of setting and operating manual boring machines or have a similar background (in either milling or turning)
- Work to customer issued drawings and specifications to produce medium to heavy work pieces.
- Have the ability to self-inspect parts.
CNC Borers:
- Roles available for experience in Heidenhain control systems and Fanuc (Fanuc also uses Cimcon CADCam for programming)
- Work to customer issued drawings and specifications to produce medium to heavy work pieces.
- Have the ability to self-inspect parts.
CNC Vertical Borer Setter/Operator/Programmer:
- Have some CNC Setter/Operator/Programmer experience using Fanuc control systems (also uses Cimco CADCam for programming)
- Be able to work to customer issued drawings and specifications to produce medium to heavy workpieces.
- Have the ability to self-inspect the parts.
