MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (GRADUATE / JUNIOR)

We are working with an engineering consultancy who are tasked to create a range of products for a myriad of industry sectors across the globe. Their products are designed, developed and tested to meet tough quality and reliability standards and to their own (ISO) in-house standards as well.

The company are looking to expand their team with a Junior Mechanical Designer, ideally someone who has recently graduated or completed an apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering and has good exposure of a 3D CAD package with some experience of designing and modelling components, fabrications, and machine parts.

The role will be part of a small team and each project will often involve the complete design, test and prototype of a product, prior to being released for manufacture.

The right candidate will have a strong interest in mechanical design engineering, with the ability to calculate and problem solve mechanical issues. The position is best suited to someone who also has spent sometime in industry using 3D CAD, either as a placement year or time served.

If you are looking for a good 360 Hands-on position that will offer a 100% Design Engineering position from day one and also be part of the company’s aggressive Innovation and New Product Development plans, this would be a good position for you.

Main Requirements:

  • Formal Mechanical Engineering Qualification (Degree, HND, HNC)
  • Good 3D CAD Skills - (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor etc)
  • Good General Mechanical principles knowledge
  • Experience of Fabrications, Machined & Casted Parts
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Good Academic Qualifications A Level & GCSE’s
  • Good Project and Problem-Solving skills
