They are looking for a construction experienced Procurement Manager to develop processes and provide support across the business to ensure best practice and value for money is delivered in the procurement process.

Primary Role Focus

The Procurement Manager will develop robust procurement processes, ensure the business complies with the processes, manage supply chain, including negotiating deals / agreement.

Salary, Hours, and Benefits

  • £50,000 - £53,000
  • 39 hours per week, 8:30am – 5:00pm, 4:30pm on Friday’s

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven Procurement Manager experience within construction or similar.
  • Experience of the COINS ERP system. 

Procurement Manager Key Responsibilities

Procedures:

  • Develop procurement processes and roll out through the business.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement processes including internal audit of buying team / administrators.
  • Ensure all suppliers / sub-contractors’ approval and documentation are up to date.
  • Manage supply chain to ensure compliance with company standards and legal requirements.

Sub-Contract / Supplier Agreements:

  • Negotiate supply / hire agreements / frameworks, including rebates agreements and discounts.
  • Monitor risks and opportunities in supply chain and set-up mitigation plans with supplier.
  • Engage across the wider group so that the company can utilise group wide agreements.
  • Negotiate and agree terms and conditions (back-to-back with the company contract).
  • Representing Procurement in project meetings internally and externally, if so required.
  • Achieve best value from the supply chain.
  • Look to optimise procurement with the target of achieving cost savings across all areas.

Reporting:

  • Produce management reports on spend, savings etc.
  • Provide cost information to assist in pricing bids.
  • Utilise COINS / Harmony systems to analyse spend.
  • Ensure Suppliers / Sub-contractors adopt appropriate health and safety requirements.
  • Follow up and engage with suppliers on NCRs.

Negotiation of costs is also key to this role, as indirect strategic Buyer.

  • Support Stock audits
  • Run out control and end of life to ensure zero obsolescence
  • Provide analysis of aged stock 
  • Prepare weekly reports on stock issues
  • Drive cost saving initiatives

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience within Stock Control
  • To have gained your experience from within a manufacturing environment
  • Highly beneficial for you to have knowledge of working in a continuous improvement culture
  • Good level of IT Literacy
  • Happy to work Nights – Monday to Friday
