Requirements for Senior Quality Engineer

  • Significant Quality Engineering experience at a Senior level
  • You will have gained your experience from within high-volume manufacturing
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of Quality tools, such as SPC, Control Plans, PPAP submissions, APQP and Containment issues
  • Supplier and customer liaison
  • Excellent auditing abilities
  • This would suit a strong Collaborator, who is keen to utilise your considerable Quality knowledge, in a positive, friendly and supportive environment

Responsibilities for Senior Quality Engineer

  • Provide support to the Quality Manager
  • Manage and improve the current Quality systems 
  • Control Plans and SPC
  • Customer audits
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
  • PPAP submissions
  • Champion continuous improvements in Quality
  • PFMEA
  • Containment issues
  • Utilising problem- solving techniques, such as Ishikawa and 5 Why
  • 8D reports
  • Point of contact for customers
  • Gauging and calibration
  • Support NPI

A well-established business in the heart of the West Midlands, have a requirement for a Quality Engineer.  This is a fast-paced environment, with high staff retention, and due to increased workload, a role for a Quality Engineer is now needed to strengthen the team.

You would be working in the plant Quality team, maintaining and improving product quality, and follow and enhance the existing quality systems.

Responsibilities for Quality Engineer

  • Support internal and external IATF16949 audits
  • Root cause analysis
  • Implementation of corrective actions
  • Use of Quality tools such as SPC, Control Plans and PPAP’s
  • Customer and Supplier liaison
  • Support the engineering change process
  • Control and manage internal non-conforming parts/supplier rejects, system, and non-conforming material area 
  • Support with new projects throughout the APQP process as plant quality representative. 
  • Support the other departments with 8D resolution of quality issues
  • Scrap reduction

Requirement for Quality Engineer

  • Quality Engineering experience
  • Proven problem-solving abilities using 8D, PPAP’s and APQP
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and IATF16949
  • Auditor /Lead Auditor qualification desirable
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, such as 5S and Poke Yoke
  • To have the ability to form strong working relationships
  • Customer /Supplier exposure
