  • When reactive job is allocated ensure that the task is personally owned and followed through to completion or when shift handover required the maintenance supervisor is given all the correct information.

Probe Technical Recruitment is recruiting for an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join a growing maintenance team to maintain a range of heavy plant equipment based in a factory in Leicester, working Mon – Fri alternating days + night shifts, 36 hours over 4 days. The company offers a salary of £32,000 with holiday, pension and overtime.

Requirements/ Duties for the role:

  • Have served a recognised apprenticeship achieving a minimum of C & G or NVQ level 3 electrical qualifications.
  • 17th Edition Wiring regulations
  • Have a minimum Maintenance background (~5 years).
  • Be able to identify hazards associated with tasks and ensure that appropriate countermeasures are in place before commencing work.
  • Preferably come from heavy industry.
  • Work from schematic circuit drawings when trouble shooting.

This is an opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join an existing maintenance team within a light press industry setting to undertake preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of machinery.

Duties:

  • Attend breakdowns as requested, assess cause, strip down and determine best method of repair and affect repair.
  • Able to read electrical, British and European standard drawings.
  • Install replacement components or carry out repairs using necessary equipment.
  • Reassemble, check and test run all equipment for effective and safe operation following repair and return to Production.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance checks to a pre-determined schedule (Pemac 5) and reporting on Pemac work order.  Assess requirements for repair/replacement parts and, in conjunction with Management, determine the best time for repairs to be carried out
  • Attend to equipment faults in response to requests from Management as a result of machinery malfunctioning and carry our adjustments and/or repairs as necessary. Complete required documentation i.e. Pemac work orders or time sheets
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits to electrical engineering drawings, equipment and fixtures using multi meter.

Requirements:

  • Skill requirements will be to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures and P.L.C.’s, P.C.’s and robots (A.B.B.) using hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments.
  • This Maintenance Electricians role will require you to have basic mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic knowledge and be trained to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

The purpose of the role is to support service operations in a practical and technical role for the service, repair and maintenance of customer owned equipment; including preparation and testing of equipment for sales, rental and loan. You will be based at the head office in Derby where once a month you will be required to travel to Ireland for a few days to service equipment from customers over there.

The Role:

  • Maintain an efficient and organised service area keeping a detailed and accurate daily record of work performed for entry and compilation of service reports, calibration records, repair quotes and sales orders as required.
  • Liaise with customers and colleagues as required to ensure a prompt and timely response to meet the needs of the customer, this may include providing repair and parts quotations, quote follow up, expediting purchase orders for the same, providing technical assistance and advice etc.
  • Manufacture of small parts and assemblies for service, application and ‘special projects’ as required.

Other duties from time to time may include:

  • Assist with design, development, manufacture and test of new and ‘special’ products as required.

The Skills Required:

  • You must be qualified Electrically i.e. NVQ / Apprenticeship / City & Guilds and would be beneficial with 17th / 18th Edition
  • Hold experience as a Maintenance Electrician or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, we would be interested in talking to Maintenance Engineers as well.
