Role Function

Be a member of the Production team including supporting Stores as and when requested.
Provide support to the Production Team to ensure a fast and efficient turnaround for all goods entering the site.
Ensure all production processes are followed.
Ensure loading of vehicles is done in a timely manner.

Materials Handler Salary, Hours and Benefits

  • £24,050 (£12.50 per hour)

Materials Handler Candidate Requirements

  • FLT Licence – Counterbalance & Reach.
  • Working knowledge of PC & Microsoft Packages.
  • Experience in a Stores and Engineering environment.
  • Team player
  • Numerically competent
  • Experience of manual handling
  • Potential overhead crane work (training will be given)
  • Shunting around site using tractor and trailer
  • Experience of Loading and unloading lorries
  • Experience of FLT operations
  • Part identification
  • Inter departmental interactions and delivery

Materials Handler Key Responsibilities

Parts should be stored in a safe and suitable location.
Eensure material flow is maintained to support Production.
Accurate picking of goods for manufacturing, 3rd party suppliers and spares is a necessity in a timely manner, if requested.
Offloading and loading of vehicles both manually and with a F.L.T.
Housekeeping to be carried out daily, within stores and surrounding areas.
Good communication at all levels is required.  i.e. Purchasing, Manufacturing, Warranty, Quality etc.
Work safely to Company’s Health & Safety guidelines, whilst being customer focused.
Support Continuous Improvement activities.

 

The Material Planner will be responsible for purchasing and negotiating fabrication materials from one or more vendors in support of the site strategy. This requires evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers, a familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the manufacturing procurement field. 

Please note: The role is mainly Planning, but there is also some Buyer / Purchasing responsibility within the role too.

  • Ensure inventory levels are kept within set targets
  • Support efforts to reduce RAW & WIP inventory
  • Identify opportunities & support efforts to reduce cost
  • Support NPPD activities, when requested.

Material Planner Hours and Benefits

  • 37.5 hours, 7:30am – 4:00pm, with a 12:30pm finish on Friday’s (with flexibility)

Material Planner Candidate Requirements

  • Proven procurement experience, minimum 2 – 5 years, preferably in a heavy manufacturing or an industrial environment.
  • Purchasing & Engineering Change experience in an MRP environment
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office. (Word, Excel, Outlook), with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to assess engineering drawings and proceed to RFQ based on supplier capability, strong negotiating skills, ability to multitask, prioritize work and work closely with other departments.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the procurement field.
  • Be able to take responsibility for resolution of issues.
  • You should be self-motivated, and results orientated and be able to work to time constraints & use own initiatives to solve problems.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Works with operations, planning and organizing all tasks.
  • The Material Planner will review purchase request for material via MRP or manual purchase requisition.
  • Monitor purchase orders & net demand schedules to ensure required ‘need dates’ are achieved.
  • Must be able to develop excellent working relationship with both internal and external customers as well as suppliers.
  • Maintain supplier relationships in order to drive cost reductions while continually achieving the highest level of quality material.
  • Ability to interface with company and supplier senior management. Excellent negotiation, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Plan & expedite the required material to ensure availability to meet production demand whilst maintaining inventory levels to a minimum and in line with set targets.

CNC Miller / Turner Benefits and Hours

  • Salary £35,000 - £42,000, negotiable dependant on experience
  • 37 hours per week; Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm, Fridays 7:30am – 12:30pm

CNC Miller / Turner Candidate Requirements

  • The ideal candidate would have manual and CNC machining experience.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience working in a precision machining environment.
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to produce complex components to drawing tolerance and specifications, efficiently and accurately.
  • Adherence to quality standards.
  • Possessing an enthusiastic can-do attitude with an eye for detail.


Key Responsibilities

  • Making one-offs and small batches of complex precision machined components from various aerospace grade materials.
  • Accurately inspecting and measuring components using various inspection equipment including, but not limited to, Micrometers, Verniers and Plug Gauges.
  • Setting and Operating Manual/CNC Mills and Lathes using Fanuc controls.
  • Writing CNC programs using AlphaCam and/or CAD/CAM post processors.
