Our Design / Research & Development Resource Team are equipped and experienced specialists in searching and sourcing relevant engineers at all levels. This team consists of experienced consultants supported by a specialist sector researcher, covering all aspects of the needs and demands of a modern engineering customer base, from blue sky concept design, research and development, right through to design for product launch.

Manpower Resource (Contractors):

This service is aimed at providing Contract Engineers at short notice, to work either on or off site to supplement your existing workforce. These engineers have all been interviewed and screened for their qualifications, suitability and experience and many have a strong working history supporting our customers with their project workloads.

The benefit to our Clients is he pure flexibility of being able to take on an engineering resource to complete a given task over a given timeline on a given budget, putting you in control of your project timelines. You can staff up & down to suit your particular workload with engineers who have the relevent skills to complete the tasks required.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will provide design engineering capability to engineering activities/projects assigned to client’s design engineering centre.

Salary, Hours, and Benefits

  • £40,000 - £50,000 dependant on experience 
  • 8:30am – 5pm, Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm finish on Friday’s (with flexibility available)

Mechanical Design Engineer Candidate Requirements

  • HND or suitable mechanical engineering design experience. A Degree would be ideal but isn’t essential.
  • 3D design proficiency - Pro-Engineer / Creo experience is preferred, but isn’t essential. 
  • Have a hands-on approach to engineering design and development.
  • Full system design experience would be preferred. 
  • Any Automotive, Military, Heavy Engineering, Off Highway / Construction Equipment experience would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent technical aptitude.
  • Previous experience of engineering projects/activities.
  • Planning and priority setting.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems would be a big advantage.

Mechanical Design Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the generation and delivery of concept and manufacturing design definitions, based on technical specifications, requirements, costs and other constraints.
  • Support the conceptual development for new products.
  • Participate in maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures.
  • Supporting the identification of business opportunities.
  • Problem solving on existing products and product improvement.
  • Support the evaluation of technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions.
  • Support assigned projects, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan and budget.
  • Working alongside the customer on product development ensuring delivery of solutions to meet the customer’s requirements.
  • Keeping up to date in relevant technical areas, developing skills and capabilities, and giving support to others as required.
  • Actively participate in business unit improvement activities.

Role Function

The Electrical Design Engineer will lead Electrical Design and Project based activities in support of New Model Programmes and Current Engineering activities within the design engineering centre.

  • £55,000 - £62,000 dependant on experience

Electrical Design Engineer Candidate Requirements

  • HND or suitable electrical engineering design experience. A Degree would be useful but isn’t essential.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience working in a senior electrical design role.
  • Proven Electrical CAD experience.
  • Ability to create detailed Schematic and harness drawings.
  • You will have hands-on / practical experience, not only theoretical, with the ability to fault find. 
  • A person who is product centric, with an appreciation for product development and product launch.
  • Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) focussed. 

Electrical Design Engineer Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • The Electrical Design Engineer will have a Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) focussed approach to product development.
  • Responsible for generation and delivery of concept and manufacturing design definitions, based on technical specifications, requirements, relevant standards, and other constraints.
  • Responsible for the conceptual development of new product solutions in the scoping phase of programmes.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures.
  • Problem solving on existing products and product improvement.
  • Responsible for evaluating technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions.
  • Planning, controlling and delivering assigned projects, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan, budget and costs.
