Manpower Resource (Contractors):

This service is aimed at providing Contract Engineers at short notice, to work either on or off site to supplement your existing workforce. The Mechanical Design Engineer will provide design engineering capability to engineering activities/projects assigned to client’s design engineering centre.

Mechanical Design Engineer Candidate Requirements

  • HND or suitable mechanical engineering design experience. A Degree would be ideal but isn’t essential.
  • 3D design proficiency - Pro-Engineer / Creo experience is preferred, but isn’t essential. 
  • Have a hands-on approach to engineering design and development.
  • Full system design experience would be preferred. 
  • Any Automotive, Military, Heavy Engineering, Off Highway / Construction Equipment experience would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent technical aptitude.
  • Previous experience of engineering projects/activities.
  • Planning and priority setting.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems would be a big advantage.

Mechanical Design Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the generation and delivery of concept and manufacturing design definitions, based on technical specifications, requirements, costs and other constraints.
  • Support the conceptual development for new products.
  • Participate in maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures.
  • Supporting the identification of business opportunities.
  • Problem solving on existing products and product improvement.
  • Support the evaluation of technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions.
  • Support assigned projects, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan and budget.
  • Working alongside the customer on product development ensuring delivery of solutions to meet the customer’s requirements.
  • Keeping up to date in relevant technical areas, developing skills and capabilities, and giving support to others as required.
  • Actively participate in business unit improvement activities.

Electrical Design Engineer Candidate Requirements

  • HND or suitable electrical engineering design experience. A Degree would be useful but isn’t essential.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience working in a senior electrical design role.
  • Proven Electrical CAD experience.
  • Ability to create detailed Schematic and harness drawings.
  • You will have hands-on / practical experience, not only theoretical, with the ability to fault find. 
  • A person who is product centric, with an appreciation for product development and product launch.
  • Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) focussed. 

Electrical Design Engineer Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • The Electrical Design Engineer will have a Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) focussed approach to product development.
  • Responsible for generation and delivery of concept and manufacturing design definitions, based on technical specifications, requirements, relevant standards, and other constraints.
  • Responsible for the conceptual development of new product solutions in the scoping phase of programmes.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures.
  • Problem solving on existing products and product improvement.
  • Responsible for evaluating technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions.
  • Planning, controlling and delivering assigned projects, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan, budget and costs.

Junior Design Engineer Candidate Requirements

  • Degree or similar qualification in Mechanical Design Engineering or similar subject. Candidates without a Degree will be considered. 
  • Experience in 3D CAD software. CREO would be ideal, but other similar CAD software will be considered.
  • Ability to accurately read, layout and create 2D Engineering drawings – ideally, but not essential.
  • Understanding of geometric tolerances and other similar Engineering principles.
  • Experience or understanding of ERP software(s) would be useful.
  • A confident person who is willing to learn and develop. 
  • Someone who is adaptable, flexible and open to working on a variety of tasks / requests. 
  • Any awareness / exposure to electronics would be ideal, but isn’t essential. 

Junior Design Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Create bespoke product designs and configurations for customers including creation of dimensional product drawings and wiring diagrams for product installation and use.
  • Create wiring diagrams and assembly drawings or instructions for the manufacturing team. 
  • Create and maintain product BOMs and Routings within the ERP system.
  • Carry out small product design and development projects, assisting NPD and Operational Excellence Engineering teams.
  • Assist the Technical Support team with customer queries.
