The Engineering Machinist’s position is commutable from the following locations: Rotherham / Sheffield / Doncaster / Huddersfield
The Engineering Machinist’s will be required to work the following shift: Monday to Thursday 7am till 5pm / Friday 7am till 2.30pm

Duties and requirements the Engineering Machinist will hold and be responsible for:
Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter
Program computers and electronic instruments such as computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools
Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work
Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs
Proficient in milling and turning using both manual and CNC operations
Proficient in measuring equipment such as micro-meters, verniers gauges, bore gauges, metric & imperial measurements
Good exposure to health & safety standards
Must be fully conversant in both CNC turning and CNC milling plus either manual lathes or manual mills (or both)
Experience of operating systems i.e., Fanuc, Heidenhain
Bench work experience
Good understanding and ability to work from engineering drawings
Ability to work with a flexible and lateral thinking approach to problem-solving
Experience in operating surface grinders is desirable
Apprentice trained in mechanical engineering - City & Guilds
Apprenticeship for Machinist – Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
Level 2 & 3 Diplomas in Machining
