Position : Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Electrical & Mechanical abilities
We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer holding Electrical and Mechanical abilities, ideally this individual will understand assembly and fitting of a range of mechanical elements of machines and is able to complete basic machining and fabrication of parts.
Installation testing & commissioning of equipment at Customers Sites
Experience with AC / DC Control circuits
General machining (Lathes / Milling)
Able to read and understand engineering Drawings & Schematics
Experience with Vacuum systems, Pumps, Valves, Pneumatics & Hydraulics
Fault finding abilities within PLC’s: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi
The ideal Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will hold an HNC/ HND in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering as well as holding a City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection, ideally holding 17th / 18th IEE Wiring Regulations.
We are working with a large group of companies that are now migrating their CAD Data and associated documentation into a new PLM Enterprise System (Product Lifecycle Management) Windchill.
This will involve moving an obsolete unsupported matrix application to a new modern system with the latest functionality and performance software support.
Duties of a CAD Data Management Support:
Work with the Engineering Data Manager to identify and rectify engineering data quality issues
Analyse and cross reference engineering data between multiple sources to identify data quality issues (IT Systems and Excel reports)
Identify missing engineering data and propose a resolution for correction Instruct the IT support team on the required correction activities
Track progress of corrective updates and validate quality issues resolved
Produce regular status updates / progress reports to project team
Skills Required of a CAD Data Management Support:
Good understanding of engineering concepts is essential
Understand how to read Engineering Drawings Understand Part and Product Bill of Materials
Understand product and part naming terms and conventions
Prior operation of PDM, PLM, MRP or ERP applications an advantage
Engineering / Manufacturing back ground is preferred
Good communication skills – written and verbal
Good Excel skills (Macros ideally) and the ability to manage multiple large spreadsheets
Ability to work independent and to deadlines
The role is for 6 months to meet project mile stone
The role is based in Peterborough but could be based out of Kent or Daventry for the right candidate.
Travel may be required within UK to work with wider project team

Some of the duties are as follows:
To complete designated tasks efficiently to the highest standard
Consider cost implications when carrying out designated tasks to minimise wasted time, materials and costs
Be observant always when in the plant and investigate any deficiencies observed or reported to you; raise work orders for those that cannot be auctioned immediately and feedback on those that can
Work safely both on your own and as part of a team, with regard for your duty of care to yourself and to others who may be affected by your work and always adhere to company policies and procedures
Work closely with the Maintenance Planner/Shift Engineering Manager to ensure the smooth execution of both day-to-day maintenance tasks and shutdown work
Ensure the upkeep and reliability of all plant and equipment in your designated area by feeding back requirements to the Planner/SEM
To be successful in your role you will ideally need experience in working within a Maintenance Department especially a food manufacturing environment would be beneficial. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of City & Guilds Part 2 or equivalent in relevant subject either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and Knowledge of Kaizen – Lean Manufacturing.
