All design and manufacturing take place at their purpose-built facility near Sheffield.

Applicants are sought to work within a small team of committed and multi-disciplined engineers responsible for the design development and support of special bespoke products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as one of the primary electrical designers within the business
  • Create electrical detailed designs of systems and sub-systems from defined client specification, this will include designing control panels (including layouts), schematics, and creation of associated documentation including BOM’s, manufacturing drawings etc
  • You are expected to work within the agreed time scales and costs, liaise with the customer and all other departments in the Company at all levels
  • Knowledge and experience of design change control and release procedures MRP and or ERP systems
  • To support the manufacturing process, resolving and clarifying electrical and wiring issues in products

Person Specification:

  • The successful candidate will have a depth of experience as an electrical design draughtsperson using Electrical CAD Software
  • Practical experience in an Electrical manufacturing environment is necessary and we would anticipate a minimum qualification in an appropriate subject at HND level
  • Experience in the use of applicable directives, norms and standards used in light industrial applications are essential (Low Voltage Directive (LVD) or M/C Directive)
  • The successful applicant will need to have good communication skills as the duties will include liaising with internal departments, have the ability to work on their own initiative with minimum supervision, prioritise work load and the skills to be a good team player
  • Temperature controller configuration
  • PLC programming experience would be an advantage
  • You will be self-motivated, flexible, with a hands-on approach to working within a project team or individually and Computer literate
  • Valid passport holder and clean driving licence required for occasional travel.

Package:

  • Salary £36,000 - £43,000 - dependant on experience

As a pivotal member of the R&D group you will help direct and oversees all functions of the group, including research and development, project management, people development, and outward communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of new products and product engineering by applying Engineering best practise and facilitate a culture of cost-effective continuous improvement and lead initiatives to optimise efficiency and accelerate project execution
  • Oversee the daily activities of the R&D team, to ensure that the team is working within the agreed project guidelines and ensuring all project goals and objectives are being met
  • Manage/oversee projects within the agreed scope specification; ensure open communication with key stakeholders on plans, progress, and viability of projects to assure that business needs are met in a timely manner
  • Frequently review progress and cost-risk analysis to assure focus is given to the most beneficial projects, filter out all non-viable projects
  • Gain knowledge of existing products, materials, design rules and production techniques with the aim to redevelop existing products ensuring all new products are designed for usability, reliability, functionality, marketability and manufacturability

Person Specification:

  • You will be a hands-on candidate, with a depth of relevant R&D experience within an engineering or manufacturing company preferred
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline including mechanical/electrical/product design or be able to demonstrate work at an appropriate level
  • Understanding of design process, design research, prototyping and manufacturing processes
  • Possess strong drive/ accountability, have the ability to push projects and work flows forward whilst remaining delivery focused
  • Excellent communication skills, innovative, driven, successful with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Solid Edge software
  • Excellent people skills – having the ability to build strong rapport, good communication along with the strength of character to push back where needed

  • A depth of experience in the field of technically demanding products
  • Must have project management qualifications, Prince II an advantage, and proven experience within previous roles

Due to expansion and product re-designs, they are looking to recruit a Lead Draughtsperson.

This opening would suit someone already in a Lead Design role, a Senior Design position, or even someone with a depth of experience who is looking to make that career step up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Lead Draughtsperson will lead and mentor CAD draughting team. You will be the senior level “go-to person” for all Solid Edge modelling and draughting issues
  • Oversee the daily activities of the draughting team, to ensure that the team is working within the agreed project plan and ensuring all project goals and objectives are being met
  • Produce detailed drawings from 3D models and design concepts
  • Orient, train and check the draughting work of engineers and CAD draughters, whilst developing and promoting the use of CAD / PLM best practices
  • Infuse best-in-class draughting disciplines and processes in to the operation, check and verify accuracy and completeness of all finished drawings, ensure draughting technical details to BS 8888
  • Manager the engineering design change control, administration of CAD and PLM software

Person Specification:

  • As an experienced Lead Draughtsperson, you will have a real depth of CAD draughting experience

  • Possesses and applies extensive knowledge of draughting standards and expertise with Solid Edge to the completion of complex assignments
