The Company:

This is a fantastic senior level opportunity, for an experienced Electrical Designer with a business that is the UK's leading manufacturer in their specialist field. Their products enjoy a global reputation for quality & performance with more than half of sales derived from Export markets. All design and manufacturing take place at their purpose-built facility near Sheffield.

Applicants are sought to work within a small team of committed and multi-disciplined engineers responsible for the design development and support of special bespoke products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as one of the primary electrical designers within the business
  • Create electrical detailed designs of systems and sub-systems from defined client specification, this will include designing control panels (including layouts), schematics, and creation of associated documentation including BOM’s, manufacturing drawings etc
  • You are expected to work within the agreed time scales and costs, liaise with the customer and all other departments in the Company at all levels
  • Knowledge and experience of design change control and release procedures MRP and or ERP systems
  • To support the manufacturing process, resolving and clarifying electrical and wiring issues in products

Person Specification:

  • The successful candidate will have a depth of experience as an electrical design draughtsperson using Electrical CAD Software
  • Practical experience in an Electrical manufacturing environment is necessary and we would anticipate a minimum qualification in an appropriate subject at HND level
  • Experience in the use of applicable directives, norms and standards used in light industrial applications are essential (Low Voltage Directive (LVD) or M/C Directive)
  • The successful applicant will need to have good communication skills as the duties will include liaising with internal departments, have the ability to work on their own initiative with minimum supervision, prioritise workload and the skills to be a good team player
  • Temperature controller configuration
  • PLC programming experience would be an advantage
  • You will be self-motivated, flexible, with a hands-on approach to working within a project team or individually and Computer literate
  • Valid passport holder and clean driving licence required for occasional travel.

Package:

  • Salary circa £40,000 based on experience

Role / Company Overview:

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Design & Estimating Engineer with a leading UK business. The business has multiple sites, a 76 million turnover with aspirations of developing further.

Reporting to the Design & Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for the procurement of works through the preparation and submission of estimates for Piling and House Foundations projects within the Yorkshire Area.   • Attend pre contract meetings alongside operational and commercial colleagues to agree scope of works and all other issues pertaining to the contract.
  • Provide technical support as work progresses on site including liaison with clients Engineers on technical and design matters.
  • Ensure compliance with company QA procedures.
  • Assist in the settlement of claims and disputes as required.
  • Foster good working relationships with clients whilst maintaining and improving the professional and progressive image of the company.

Introduction:

This is an excellent opportunity to work for a UK market leader. As part out of the drawing office team, the role holder will be responsible for producing 3D models using Tekla structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilising core Tekla features as well as bespoke Tekla components to create accurate 3D models of steel frame buildings and transfer structures
  • Producing and checking general arrangements, fabrication drawings and CAM data 
  • Producing erection drawings for site

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to the Integrated Management System 
  • Undertaking concept designs and planning projects at concept stage on a wide variety of buildings 
  • Responsibility for the production of structural engineering calculations, steel frames and associated hot rolled members and composite floor slabs

  • Comfortable undertaking hand calculations and using spreadsheets as standard, but able to demonstrate ability to use 3D modelling software.  Working knowledge of Trimble design software (Tekla Structural Designer) would be beneficial 
  • Bachelor's degree BEng / BSc or Masters degree MEng / MSc that meets the engineering academic requirements for Chartership
  • Working towards Chartership, CSCS card holder and you will hold a full clean UK driving licence
