The Engineering Machinist’s position is commutable from the following locations: Rotherham / Sheffield / Doncaster / Huddersfield  

The Engineering Machinist’s will be required to work the following shift: Monday to Thursday 7am till 5pm / Friday 7am till 2.30pm

Duties and requirements the Engineering Machinist will hold and be responsible for: 

  • Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter
  • Program computers and electronic instruments such as computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work
  • Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs
  • Proficient in milling and turning using both manual and CNC operations
  • Proficient in measuring equipment such as micro-meters, verniers gauges, bore gauges, metric & imperial measurements 
  • Good exposure to health & safety standards
  • Must be fully conversant in both CNC turning and CNC milling plus either manual lathes or manual mills (or both) 
  • Experience of operating systems i.e., Fanuc, Heidenhain
  • Bench work experience
  • Good understanding and ability to work from engineering drawings
  • Ability to work with a flexible and lateral thinking approach to problem-solving
  • Experience in operating surface grinders is desirable
  • Apprentice trained in mechanical engineering - City & Guilds
  • Apprenticeship for Machinist – Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
  • Level 2 & 3 Diplomas in Machining

We are seeking to recruit a proven Fitter to join an advanced manufacturing plant within the Maintenance and Production team.

As a Fitter you must be able to assemble complete machines and sub-assemblies to customer specifications, and to test completed equipment.

Along with sociable working hours of Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:00 with 30-minute unpaid lunch break and Friday 07:30 -12:30

Fitter Salary and Benefits:

  • £31,600
  • Life Assurance at 3x annual salary

:Some duties for the Fitter role may include

  • To assist with testing of finished equipment and to complete test records
  • To operate portable hand tools for drilling, grinding and sanding etc.
  • To lift components and assemblies using slings and pendant crane in a safe and protective manner, training will be given
  • To work within planned times for jobs, and to feedback deviations when necessary

Planner / Scheduler Role Overview

  • Reporting to the Production Control Manager, the Planner / Scheduler will process requisitions for manufactured and bought out parts for Capital Projects, Spares orders and Customer Service contracts.
  • Case Entries/DMRs through the business – as and when required.
  • MRP suggestions for manufactured parts.
  • Provide support and production planning information to internal customers.
  • To carry out system housekeeping tasks to maintain data accuracy.

Planner / Scheduler Candidate Specification

  • MRP scheduling experience would be preferred but is not essential.
  • Attention to detail and an analytical approach to work.
  • Good IT skills; Excel knowledge to help in assessment/review of data.
  • Solid communicator and able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to prioritise work in line with schedule requirements.
  • Willing to learn and be part of continued process improvement.

Planner / Scheduler Key Responsibilities

  • Load Drawing Office Release lists into the business system and schedule accordingly.
  • Liaise with Manufacturing, Drawing Office and Purchasing in the processing of Case Entries and Defective Material Requirements.
  • Update the Master Schedule system.
  • Process stock requirements generated via MRP, along with processing Spares, Customer Service contracts and Capital Project requirements.
  • Monitor the schedule, assess load levelling and batching opportunities to aid timely manufacture.
  • Attend production scheduling meetings. Prepare Job paperwork, to support shop floor requirements.
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly system housekeeping tasks.
  • To highlight to relevant areas in the business where there are any potential problems and assist in resolving the issues where possible.

Reliability Engineer Duties: 

The Engineer will generally work autonomously on a Day-to-Day basis, but support will be in the department and at Senior Management level when required. 

The position will wear a number of hats and will support projects through the design and test phases, into production and then pick up post delivered product issues and faults from customers, when they arise. 

Working closely with the Design Team and Quality Department the role will perform the following daily duties:

  • Checking Engineering Drawings (Solidworks) 
  • Ensure Designs meet the required standards
  • Create Production Design / Process FMECA Reports 
  • Run Analysis Meetings
  • Be involved in Process Change Exercises 
  • Evidence / Data gathering reports 
  • Liaise will all Engineering, Suppliers and Customers 
  • Be the initial point of contact (Customer) 
  • Assessing the suitability of inspection methods 
  • Work closely with the company’s Quality Manager 
  • Understand Design / Production techniques 
  • Ensure design projects are correct, with the right dimensions and geometric tolerances
  • Be the point of contact for all product return issues. 
  • Working through and managing their own workloads and conducting various tasks, the right person will need to be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. 

Reliability Requirements 

  • 5 Years+ experience of being in a Design Checking and Documentation type of role 
  • Good exposure of managing reliability reports and exercises 
  • A good working knowledge of products related to Engine, Powertrain, Moving Machinery or Driveline. 
  • Ideally a background in design and developing niche and bespoke products from concept through to final delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • A formal qualification in engineering

Technical Engineer Role Purpose

The purpose of the Technical Engineer is to design specific adaptations focusing upon customer functionality, ease of on-site installation, and manufacturing repeatability throughout the design process. The procedure needs to deliver source material for additional stakeholders within the business targeting the prompt and efficient delivery of new products to the market.

This is a varied role, being hands-on, with the ability to read and create technical drawings.

Technical Engineer Candidate Requirements

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to read and create technical drawings being familiar with CAD systems
  • A strong mechanical bias being comfortable in the utilisation of power tools
