As the lead Control Engineer, you will take charge in the development of a new motion control system. You will also oversee all controls on site and essentially will be your own boss. This role offers in house training and will allow you to be flexible on when you start and finish your workday. You will be required to work to strict deadlines and must be able to work on your own initiative or liaise with relevant providers and implement effectively into your work.

Controls Engineer Duties:

  • Take charge in the design and development of new machine controls. 
  • Design and start-up PLC controlled systems for material handling and robotic welding. 
  • Integration and build of systems in development and bespoke systems. 
  • To implement entirely new procedures to perform a variety of engineering work. 
  • Be involved in all phases of development. 
  • Develop and test controls performance. 
  • Designing safety systems. 
  • Working to tight deadlines. 

Controls Engineer Requirements include: 

  • HNC/HND in relevant engineering subject.
  • Minimum 5 years PLC programming to a high level. Including Motion Control. 
  • Welding Robot programming (Advantageous). 
  • Electrical design and installation. 
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems. 
  • Heavy industry background. 
  • Good communication skills. 
  • Be able to make decisions effectively. 
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, budgeting and project management.

My client is looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join their busy team. Working a x2 shift rotating pattern of days and nights you will be responsible for all maintenance activities on site, to ensure factory production is maximised.

Requirements of a Maintenance Engineer

  • Ideally you will hold formal Apprenticeship, however must hold either a City & Guilds Level C / 3 or NVQ 3 Standard qualification in Mechanical Fitting / Engineering, allied to having a proven experience of undertaking both planned and reactive maintenance within either a heavy engineering / manufacturing, process or production environment. In addition to your “hands on” skills if you have experience of mentoring apprentices, managing contractors and / or ordering spares you will get the opportunity to utilise these skills.
