Probe are pleased to be working with an industry leading fabricator of industrial equipment who are seeking a Sales Engineer to join their team. The company are experts in their field and work with some of the largest names in motorsport, automotive, aerospace and steel. 

The company has several business units which offer different solutions but, generally speaking, they design, manufacture and supply equipment and materials which can be used in extreme conditions, predominantly for use at extreme temperatures. 

Rather than bombard you with KPI’s, the Sales Manager prefers a long-term, consultative approach with relationships at the heart of everything they do. Whilst there will be some targets the company values long term success over quick wins.

DUTIES:

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Forging and maintaining relationships with customers who will stand the test of time 
  • Advising potential and current customers on the full product and solution range
  • Liaising internally with subject matter experts to ensure the best solution is put forward
  • Maintaining good record keeping
  • Achieving group and individual goals

REQUIREMENTS:

Sales Engineers will have some or all of the following experience:

  • Several years of experience within a technical sales role in an engineering discipline 
  • Experience in a sales role focused on welding, fabrication or furnace equipment
  • Personable and driven personality
  • Willingness to travel across the UK to meet customers
  • Live within a commutable distance of either Dudley 

The Sales Engineer will be offered flexible working but must live within commutable distance of either Dudley or Nottingham.

Key Responsibilities

  • To set up and run a PI plan for warehouse operations to physically count
  • Make sage stock adjustments from submitted counts

  • Investigating when ‘Free Stock’ appears and amending sage, completing summary report

Bill of Material (BOM’s)

  • Analyse BOM to ensure the material is correct.
  • Ensure the times within each process are correct
  • Working with the production team to ensure BOM details are updated to reflect current operations

Press Brake Operator Key Responsibilities

  • Set-up, adjust and prepare press brake (Current machines) Amada, Edwards Pearson.
  • Finding correct tooling/program per set-up.
  • Check the heights of tooling and adjust back stops etc. along with light guards.
  • Set-up and adjustment of material for folding at correct height.
  • Locating programs and adjust tonnage and tooling for each part being formed.
  • Provide feedback to Production Manager all jobs not meeting set-up and/or production standards.
  • Producing folded parts to drawings supplied, measuring with Vernier Caliper, Protractors etc.
  • Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.

Press Brake Operator Specification

  • This person will work well on their own and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • He/she will need to be well driven.
  • The appropriate person must have a keen eye for detail, and ability to read drawings.
  • They must have pride in their work and maintain a tidy safe workspace.
  • Must be reliable, and physically fit.
  • Good mathematical ability and able to use measuring devices such as Vernier callipers and protractors.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced-team environment.
