Duties of a Maintenance Engineer / Fitter

  • You must hold formal mechanical qualifications (and ideally be apprentice trained too), with proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer / Fitter supporting plant and equipment within a robust manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.

Allied to your experience you will ideally be apprentice trained and qualified to NVQ 3 electrically (or equivalent). 

Candidates who in addition have plc or robot training are at an advantage and a relatively clean driving license is also required.

As the Maintenance Engineer with Mechanical Bias, your duties will include:

  • Respond to and provide an immediate maintenance service.
  • Maintain / Repair plant and equipment (both under a PM schedule and breakdowns)
  • To carry out safety checks of machines, equipment and plant and complete periodic safety records.
  • General daily maintenance of building and facilities, internal and external

  • Excellent knowledge of APQP and PPAP’s
  • To have managed a good size team in Quality previously
