Electronics Engineer (Safety Standards)

We are looking to recruit an Electronic Engineer with a strong Safe and Compliance Standards background to join a small Consultancy, who are looking to develop an innovative product that incorporates complex electronics and embedded designs. 

This will involve developing new products, from concept to realisation, according to international safety standards, whilst working alongside a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Electronic Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Developing product specifications in accordance with safety standards.
  • Design hardware systems at the block level by using system modelling software packages
  • Electronics schematic design.
  • Completion of System FMEAs and FMEDAs to verify products designs meet the required safety integrity levels.
  • Assisting with the prototyping and testing of new products.
  • Working with 3rd party certifications bodies on the approval of new products

 
Electronic Engineer Requirements

  • Degree or similar qualification in Electronics Engineering or comparable subject
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in electronics design
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in the safety industry
  • Experience in electronics hardware design, development, and testing; including schematic design and PCB layout
  • Experience in system modelling, ideally using Enterprise Architect
  • Familiarity with international safety standards
  • Experience with product approval to international standards.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in embedded firmware design, development, and testing
  • Electronics design in a highly regulated industry
  • EMC design and test experience
  • Experience of firmware unit testing; preferably using Tessy

Systems Architect Role

Senior Electronics Engineer - Role

A Senior Electronic Engineer is required to support the continuing growth of the design department. The role will involve leading a team of junior / graduate electronic engineers, working alongside other engineering disciplines, designing hardware and embedded software to extend the company’s range of products, whilst still being involved in hands-on design.

Project  Systems Design Engineer Duties 

  • The purpose of the role is to support the customer and the European Manufacturing Centre with project management activities related to the safe and quick installation of equipment into brown and green field site locations around the world. 
  • Some projects will be multimillion pound programmes that may take over 18 months to complete, and some are smaller projects that may only take a few months to sign-off.
  • As a Project Design Engineer, you will be the main point of contact with all relevant parties and have responsibility for creating and working to a tight project plan and P&ID drawings, ensuring that all parties and equipment are in the right place at the right time. 
  • Problem solving and communication skills will play a major part of this position and will often require international travel at short notice for an average of 7 – 10 days to deal with urgent issues. 
  • Liaison with specialist and industry field experts will also be a big part of this position. 
  • Project planning and communicating changes and compromises to relevant parties through data and new drawings are essential for this new role, along with understanding the limits of the products and internal manufacturing capabilities. 

Project Systems Design Engineer Requirements 

  • A formal Degree or similar qualification in Chemical Engineering
  • 2 Years post study experience within a Chemical Process / System Design environment 
  • Good ability to use CAD Software 2D / 3D

Role Overview

  • The test development engineer team is a support team in the Product Development department. The senior development engineer role is running quality assurance tests on New Product Integration & for continual improvement of current products, as well as taking technical lead for electronics, legislation and providing guidance / direction to the development engineers.

  • Minimum qualification is a Degree in an Engineering Discipline with at least 5 years in an engineering / developmental role. 
  • Excellent communication skills in both the spoken and written form.
  • Be fully conversant with product development systems, materials, specifications and processes necessary for the generation and introduction of new products and features.
  • Having a proven capability that includes development of products and / or features (reflecting timing, financial & quality targets).
  • Possess good analytical skills and be proficient in Microsoft applications, Word, Excel. Ability to work effectively on your own or part of a project team.
  • Can analyse and compile testing data from the tests performed.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. Flexibility and adaptability within a pressurised environment.

  • Managing and motivating a multi-disciplined project team that will deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective products and features from the conceptual stage to introduction. Managing, planning, costing and controlling a budget associated with a new or modified product or feature. 
  • Being a developmental lead and point of reference within the product development team capable of developing, analysing, interpreting and implementing solutions for new products, or to ensure resolution of any warranty or value analysis proposal.
