Duties of the Chemical Engineer

  • Initiation, design, implementation and commissioning of Plant Modification Proposals in order to modify existing plant
  • Hazard Assessments and HAZOPS
  • Develop new processes and improving existing ones
  • Decide the scope and extent of hazard assessment relevant to process
  • Carry out calculations and advise on testing programmes
  • Liaison with Project Engineering to develop the plant design, layout, costing and proposals
  • Provide technical expertise
  • Act as a Project Lead with specified projects with responsibility for budget expenditure, overall design and completion to agreed targets
  • Initiate, design, implementation and commissioning of Plant Modification Proposals, to modify existing plant, including all relevant hazard assessments and HAZOPs

Requirements of the Chemical Engineer

  • You will have a Degree in Chemistry
  • Relevant industrial experience 
  • Experience of development of new processes and improving existing ones
  • On-Plant experience in commissioning and practical trouble shooting
  • Experience of DSEAR methodology
  • SIL and LOPA assessments

  • Working with drawings and specifications

  • Combination of HASS / Fanuc / Mazak / Mazatrol

  • Working to tight tolerances

REQUIREMENTS OF CNC SETTER  OPERATOR

  • CNC Operating experience
  • Setting CNC turning lathe machines would be ideal
  • Exposure to HASS, Fanuc, Mazak and / or Mazatrol would be the cherry on the cake!
  • Choice of shifts – either Double Days or Nights

Key Responsibilities of Quality Manager  

  • Ensuring that the products or service provided is consistent and always fit for purpose, meeting both external and internal requirements. (This includes compliance with legal requirements and standards set by regulatory bodies.)

  • Minimum Degree educated (or equivalent) and lead auditor qualifications
  • Thorough understanding and effective management of Total Quality Management, ISO90001 and associated policies in a global manufacturing supply chain

Planner / Buyer Candidate Specification

  • Minimum of 2 - 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office. (Word, Excel, Outlook), with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Purchasing & Engineering Change experience in an MRP environment
  • Strong ability to assess engineering drawings and proceed to RFQ based on supplier capability, strong negotiating skills, ability to multitask, prioritize work and work closely with other departments.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the procurement field.
  • Be able to take responsibility for resolution of issues.
  • You should be self-motivated, and results orientated and be able to work to time constraints & use own initiatives to solve problems.

Planner / Buyer Key Tasks

  • Buying responsibility for designated fabrication vendors to support plant & chamber production.
  • Ensure inventory levels are kept within set targets.
  • Support efforts to reduce RAW & WIP inventory.

  • Support NPPD activities, when requested.

  • Works with operations, planning and organizing all tasks.

  • Carry out continuous improvement project work across a range of processes.
  • Resolve problems and improve processes, methods within manufacturing teams.
