DUTIES OF THE CHEMICAL ENGINEER

  • Develop new processes and improving existing ones
  • Decide the scope and extent of hazard assessment relevant to process
  • Carry out calculations and advise on testing programmes
  • Liaison with Project Engineering to develop the plant design, layout, costing and proposals
  • Initiate, design, implementation and commissioning of Plant Modification Proposals, to modify existing plant, including all relevant hazard assessments and HAZOPs

REQUIREMENT OF THE CHEMICAL ENGINEER

  • You will have a Degree in Chemistry
  • Relevant industrial experience 
  • Experience of development of new processes and improving existing ones
  • On-Plant experience in commissioning and practical trouble shooting
  • Experience of DSEAR methodology
  • SIL and LOPA assessments

  • Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office

Hours of work for this Production Operatives role:

  • Monday to Friday – 8am to 5pm
  • Breaks (unpaid) – 15minutes in the morning, 30 minutes for lunch and 15 minutes for afternoon break.

Estimator Pay and Hours

The Role

  • Client is looking for an Estimator who will be responsible for designing, specifying and pricing adequate products in response to client enquiries.
  • The Estimator will also be required to meet client expectations by ensuring prompt replies to queries, utilising all the information provided, implementing information gathered from design/site meetings and meeting site delivery dates.   
  • You will need to communicate effectively during a handover meeting with your appointed project team to ensure correct drawings are produced on time and in accordance with your design.

Personal Specification

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a construction Estimator role or similar
  • Proven ability reading construction drawings and extract relevant information efficiently
  • Solid knowledge & understanding of the construction process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Commercially aware, target driven and ambitious
  • Experience of using Bluebeam and AutoCAD desirable 

Estimator Key Responsibilities

  • To prepare an accurate, competitive and detailed technical schedules for client products with the assistance of a dedicated internal structural engineering team. 
  • Follow up schedules with customers via phone calls and emails to build relationships with key contacts.
  • Provide basic calculations to the current standard for all products specified by you.   
  • Detailed handovers to the project team when orders are received.
  • Provide excellent customer service; attend occasional office and site visits to develop customer relationships, solve technical issues and develop product design.   
  • Carry out product presentations as a training aid to staff and customers.
  • Conduct site installation training sessions for customers when required.

  • Prepare raw material for sampling of new products and resolve any issues
  • Inspect and pass off new sample parts and generate ISIR and Ppap or FAIR documentation where required
  • Investigate root cause & determine corrective actions for non conformances
  • Carry out Internal calibration and arrange external calibration
  • Generate scrap + rework records
  • Carry out Audits and Environmental or Health & Safety inspections & risk assessments
  • Maintain COSHH data sheets and inspections

Skills & experience required for the Quality Inspector:

  • Suitable candidates will ideally have a minimum of 2 year’s experience as a Quality Inspector.
  • You will ideally hold metrology experience and be able to read drawings and use measuring equipment.
  • Energetic and passionate about Quality with good attention to detail and well organised.
