I have a huge opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join an award-winning environmental waste management company in the Dudley area. Operating all over the West Midlands my client turns waste into energy they also recycle metals for the civils industry. The purpose of your role will be to implement preventive maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment. You will also need to provide an electrical fitting service throughout the plant.

Duties of Maintenance Electrician include:

  • Carry out planned maintenance activities. 
  • Maintain and test all LV electrical systems.  
  • Assist in the Implementation and monitoring of a preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Use of workshop tools, hand tools, power hand tools, lifting equipment, etc. 
  • In the absence of the Maintenance Chargehand and the Maintenance Manager, liaise with the Operations department each morning, review the overnight log entries, and prioritise work as required.  
  • Source, order and purchase spare parts within allocated budget limits.  
  • Assist other operation and maintenance personnel as required. 

Maintenance Electrician Competencies: 

  • Relevant Electrical Qualifications i.e., City & Guilds Part 1 & 2, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.  
  • Practical experience of electrical work. 
  • PLC/DCS systems. 
  • An awareness of health and safety legislations. 
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills. 
  • Motors over 15kVA (including testing), circuit and cable tracing, working at heights and fault finding. 
  • Ability to read technical drawings.

As a Maintenance Engineer your role will be to carry out planned maintenance across the Factory and Wastewater Treatment Plant.
