TOOLMAKER

Toolmaker required for a busy manufacturing organisation based in the Birmingham area.

This is a traditional manufacturing business, non-automotive, offering a Days role.  They are a very friendly business, batch manufacture, and a role for a Toolmaker has become available.
If you are a Toolmaker who enjoys using your own initiative, and can work either autonomously or part of a team, this could be just the role for you.

There is a variety of different manufacturing processes under one roof, their own press shop and CNC area too

The role is commutable from Dudley, Birmingham, Halesowen, Stourbridge, Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth, Walsall, Tyseley, Moseley, Hollywood, Redditch, Aston, Brownhills, Aldridge, Cannock

DUTIES OF TOOLMAKER:

  • Responsibility for manufacture, modification and development of in-house tooling
  • Repair of tooling
  • Development and test of tooling and fixtures
  • Drilling, Grinding, turning and milling
  • Bench work
  • Involvement in Kaizen activities
  • Working from engineering drawings
  • Repairs to Jigs and fixtures
  • Working with the Manufacturing Engineers to develop new tooling and improve existing tooling
  • Prove out new tooling
  • Improvements to existing tooling

REQUIREMENTS OF TOOLMAKER:

  • It is essential that you have good Toolmaking experience
  • Pressings experience
  • Good knowledge of working on jigs and fixtures
  • To have the ability to read engineering drawings, verbal instructions and sketches and sample parts
  • This role would suit someone who enjoys using their own initiative, and to try to fix problems
