The successful candidate MUST have previous experience as a Business Development Manager or have worked in another Sales position. Do you have experience in the Foundry Industry or Engineering industry? Do you have a track record of growing a division?  

Business Development Manager Duties:

  • As Business Development Manager you will be expected to expand and discover new clients
  • Identifying and supporting new business opportunities
  • Participate in Trade shows and Exhibitions

  • Understand and have a strong Technical knowledge of the products what 

Business Development Manager Requirements:

  • Continual liaison primarily with the MD and Operations manager
  • Good commercial awareness, competitive analysis and negotiation skills
  • Must have experience of working in the Engineering industry 
  • Would be an advantage having some background in the Foundry industry
  • Have a history of driving sales and winning new business

DATA ANALYST

An urgent role has become available for a DATA ANALYST to be a key member of the Sales Team.  This role is within a huge International global manufacturing organisation who are experiencing growth and continued uplift on their products and services.

Reporting into the Sales Director, you will be giving invaluable assistance to help validate pricing structures, or order to aid cost recovery from the customers, in order to keep on top of spiraling raw material costs 

An IMMEDIATE start can be offered, as is flexible working, if needed. This will be an initial 6-month temporary contract with a view to this becoming permanent

DUTIES OF DATA ANALYST

  • Validate pricing structures in order to aid recovery of costs from customers
  • Access raw material costs and energy
  • Monitor raw material changes and map impact on pricing
  • Help the Sales team to prepare a business case to re-negotiate pricing where appropriate
  • Help prepare PowerPoint slides to present recovery claims with evidence of invoices etc
  • Calculate the financial impact of raw material / energy price changes against individual part numbers
  • Update databases with new prices
  • Calculate monthly, quarterly, and annual raw material price changes

REQUIREMENTS OF DATA ANALYST

  • Relevant data analyst experience 
  • To have previously monitored raw material / energy costs
  • It is critical that you have strong attention to detail skills
  • To have previously worked with a sales Department
  • Good level of IT literacy

Works Supervisor Role Overview

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Workshop Supervisor will oversee approximately 50 staff, on a double day shift, consisting of Team Leader, Operators, Laborers and Apprentices.

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Candidate Requirements

  • The Works Supervisor will have proven experience of supervising or managing in an engineering / manufacturing environment.
  • Machining exposure, particularly grinding would be highly advantageous.
  • Willing and able to work double days shifts.
  • A good communicator, who is able to mentor and get the best out people. 

Works Supervisor Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Maximise ‘lights out’ machining to increase Productivity and record this in TEAMS.
  • Ensure prior to the end of shift, all applicable machines are set up to run lights out, ensuring the Production Priority database is updated with the latest plans and actions which can be shared by all colleagues.
  • Explore ways of increasing Productivity with further possible unmanned or multi manning and conduct trials to reduce stock allowance for grinding which will reduce machining times. Conduct machining trials using tooling representatives and experts in the field. 
  • Monitor and review operator production efficiencies against targets and carry out any actions where targets are not met with the assistance of the Production team.   • Use ANDON boards to assist in the monitoring of Productivity and educate operators in the importance of booking accuracy.
  • Expect multi manning wherever possible. Always question areas that are not and consider options of how to improve this.
  • The Works Supervisor will implement LEAN techniques including 6S throughout the works. Aim for continuous improvement in order to save time and money.
  • Ensure all completed work is moved onto the next operation by operators and not left in racks for others to move.
  • Regularly review and update the skills' matrix plan to Identify areas of weakness within work cells and operators to ensure we have a fully skilled and flexible workforce.
  • Attend daily factory tour and include team leaders for their input.
  • Update machine capabilities to assist in planning the production requirements.
  • Communicate plans and instructions to colleagues during shift change handover and supply daily email for reference and for others to continue with the required actions.
  • Use initiative to make decisions, challenge set plans and try out new ideas.
