We are currently working with a company that operates nationwide, providing integrated consultancy services for major infrastructure and development schemes, who has a reputation of designing and delivering some of the most complex projects in the UK.

As an organisation they have a proven track record of delivery in residential, commercial, retail, public and infrastructure sectors, with significant project experience in planning, designing and delivering strategic highways and bridges, flood alleviation works, transport plans, major utility installations, high rise buildings, new towns, schools/leisure centres, public buildings and business parks.

Their teams are structured to provide efficient, cost effective and dynamic advice, often against challenging timescales and with significant complexities. 

The Quantity Surveyor role within the company will require an enthusiastic, dynamic, and motivated individual with a junior or experienced background working as a Quantity Surveyor in recent times.

This is a great opportunity for a successful candidate to join the business in a role offering the prospect to work with experienced Quantity Surveyors and Project Consultants and provide a wide range of development consultancy services.

Experience Required 

  • A formal Qualification in Quantity Surveying 
  • Fully conversant with MS office – Word, Excel Outlook, Project 
  • Some recent exposure of Quality Management Systems 
  • 12 – 18 months post qualification sector experience

Civil Engineer (Infrastructure projects)

A Civil Engineer is required for a Birmingham based Consultancy 

We are working with an organisation that provides consultancy services related to major nationwide infrastructure schemes, with a strong successful track record for the delivery of projects in Commercial, Residential, Public and the Retail sectors. They have vast experience within infrastructure - planning, designing, and delivering highways and bridges, flood elevation works, transport plans, major utility installations, schools, public buildings, and business parks.

Their team is structured to provide efficient, cost effective and dynamic advice, often against challenging timescales and with significant complexities. 

This role is seeking a Civil Engineer who can provide support in the following:-

Design a variety of infrastructure schemes as well as liaising with clients in the following disciplines: 

  • Highway design both preliminary and detailed. 
  • Drainage design both strategic and detailed. 
  • Design of foul pumping stations, SUDS, flow control structures and balancing facilities. 
  • Residential and commercial external works design including earthworks assessments.

Duties:

The position plays an integral part of the day to day function between the customer and the technical departments within the organisation, by offering tailored support to customers by understanding their requirements and then liaising with the relevant Project and R&D teams.

  • Collating information and requirements via telephone, email, Skype/Team/Zoom, or fax 
  • Discussing suitable options, lead times and costs 
  • Liaising with the internal technical departments to ensure customers’ requests and demands can be achieved 
  • Dealing with issues and legacy quality issues 
  • Maintaining CRM Systems and internal spread sheets or relevant documentation 
  • Liaising with Sales Teams and Distributers 
  • Keep abreast of new technology and product development 
  • Advice customers of new improved technologies and better solutions. 
  • Be able to communicate effectively in both English and German 

Skills & Experience:

  • This position does require excellent German language skills, both conversational and technical and some exposure of working directly for, or with German organisations in the recent past. 
  • The position does not require someone to be formally technically qualified, but a background working in some form of engineering or engineering sales or customer service is strongly desired. 
  • Good IT Skills and the ability to create and maintain spread sheets and databases are as must
  • Excellent communication with good listening skills are essential, with the ability to convey information clearly and in a professional manner.

This is a well-established multi-disciplinary business, with a diverse project workload. They offer a varied and interesting workload, in this client facing role, so, a candidate with excellent communication skills is required. 

You will have around 5 years’ experience in Infrastructure Engineering / Civil Engineering, with a range of exposure across drainage and highways. Alternatively, deeper knowledge in one of these areas and a willingness to develop the other will be considered.

Infrastructure Engineer Candidate Essentials

  • Drainage (MicroDrainage), Section agreements and / or highways experience is essential
  • Educated to a minimum standard of degree Infrastructure Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and in modelling software such as Micro Drainage, PDS or Civil 3D
  • Working knowledge of drainage design standards and good practice, including Sewers for Adoption, Wallingford Procedure, FEH, NHBC Standards, CIRIA 753 (SUDS Manual), NPPF, etc
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to present information in detail to Directors, senior management team and staff
  • Hold full clean driving licence and have own private car with insurance for business use

Key Responsibilities

  • The Infrastructure Engineer will be managing and undertaking numerous residential, commercial and public sector related clients and projects. Liaison and co-operative working with team members, senior staff and colleagues in other disciplines
  • Writing of Flood Risk Assessment reports, Transport Assessments and other technical reports for strategic development schemes
  • Development of surface water drainage strategy designs, Road design, S38, S104, S106 and S278 documentation
  • Prepare design models, drawings, calculations, technical documents, reports and correspondence
  • Assist Director with operation of the Civil team to meet the productivity and growth aspirations of the company
  • Submissions of designs for third party approvals which require pro-active communication with clients, authorities and other agencies to ensure projects are completed to deadlines and budgets
  • Working within all offices as and when required, working additional hours if necessary, to deliver all responsibilities and to attend meetings/events

This is an opportunity to join a successful company based in Tipton to undertake reactive and preventative maintenance on plant equipment in this Heavy Industry manufacturing facility. This is a DAYS based position working Monday – Friday.

This successful and well established Heavy Industry company is seeking an Electrically biased, Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join the maintenance team in this DAYS based role.

Role Description

  • Working as part of a team, you will be providing both Reactive & Planned Preventative Maintenance
  • Maintaining a variety of Heavy Industry Equipment including furnaces. 
  • Fault Finding both Electrically & Mechanically (electrical bias)
  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager
  • This position is a Day time role working 40 hr week Monday – Friday with a 7am start
  • Once trained you will also be required to go onto the call out rota (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off). Call out and any overtime are paid at additional premiums.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineering Experience with an Electrical bias
  • Electrical Engineering Qualification.
  • Successful candidates must have experience working within a Heavy Industry environment and will ideally have worked with furnaces or have heat treatment plant experience. 
  • Heavy Engineering / Furnace / Foundry / Heath Treatment 

In return you will joining an existing team within a well established company in their field with a salary of up to £31,500 depending on skills and experience. There is also additional payments for call out and regular overtime opportunities.
