DUTIES OF PROJECT QUALITY ENGINEER

  • Manage the development of quality activities
  • Obtain reliable products on time with the required quality
  • Using validated supplies to meet the customer requirements and deadlines
  • Carry out audits to automotive standards
  • PPAP’s and APQP
  • Control Plans definition and execution
  • Management of sub-suppliers
  • Consolidating approval status of purchased materials and components

  • Support and coordinate the management of quality problems

REQUIREMENTS OF PROJECT QUALITY ENGINEER

  • Quality Engineer experience is essential
  • You will have gained your considerable experience from within a high-volume manufacturer
  • Extensive experience with PPAP’s and APQP
  • Previous experience of managing sub-suppliers
  • Knowledge of Control Plan definition and execution
  • Process Validation and Product Homologation
  • Extensive Control Plan knowledge

QUALITY CONTROL TEAM LEADER

This is an opportunity for you to join a highly successful Manufacturing business based in Wolverhampton as a Quality Control Team Leader. Working alternating AM / PM shifts, Monday to Friday you will monitor and improve the quality of processes and outputs within this well established company.

Role Function

To support continued growth and development, client is looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer. This is a great opportunity to join a leading business.

  • The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures that the supply chain companies continually develop their process in line with the design intent and verify their systems to ensure they are compliant with the end customer’s needs. 
  • The SQE will support the SCM Manager / Quality Engineer responsible for delivering all aspects of the Supplier Quality Assurance function. 
  • Work in a team environment with suppliers to develop and implement best practices that emphasise defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements. Collect root cause analysis and provide corrective feedback to prevent line stops due to supply issues. 
  • Manage the customer specific requirements and offer technical support to suppliers. Responsible for ensuring that the products produced meet quality standards required to minimise quality costs and maximise customer satisfaction whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to. 
  • Manage the customer specific requirements and offer technical support. Work on multiple phases or sub-tasks of projects or entire projects of high complexity

Supplier Quality Engineer Salary: £40,000, 39 hours per week

Candidate Requirements

  • Supplier sourcing management using the PPAP system is essential

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • The Supplier Quality Engineer will lead supplier interface from inception through to start of production.
  • Work with purchasing to assess potential suppliers to ensure compatibility with the company Quality expectations.
  • Manage part approval processes for parts on new projects, ensuring that pre-production builds have the right part, to the right Quality and at the right time.
  • Managing quality concerns relating to allocated suppliers. Monitor and control conformity of production within the supply base.
  • Supporting the supplier to resolve quality issues to ensure product quality and supply.
  • Support manufacturing with new model build concerns to ensure build plans are maintained and issues are addressed in a controlled and constructive manner.
  • Conduct supplier selection audits to assess capability and suitability. Working closely with the Purchasing department to ensure suitable supplier selection and feedback on supplier performance concerns.
  • Assist with creating quality standards for new models and train manufacturing on model quality requirements.
  • Working within the Quality team to create and implement new systems to act as a robust foundation for a brand-new Quality department.

My client is currently recruiting for a full-time Quality Engineer on a permanent basis; they are a large-scale, long-established manufacturer of industrial equipment in the Shropshire region.

Working hours will be a rotating shift pattern of 6.00am-2.00pm one week and 2.00pm-10.00pm the next.
