Workshop Fitter Role Description

  • In this role you will be undertaking service and repair of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment for a variety of industries.
  • You will fault find, repair, and test a wide range of products including motors, gearboxes, fans and pumps within a workshop.
  • Joining an existing team, this is an additional role due to growth in the business.

Workshop Fitter Skills and Qualifications

  • Successful candidates will ideally hold a recognised qualification within Mechanical Engineering such as NVQ or City & Guilds.
  • I would be keen to hear from Mechanical Engineers/ Fitters, or multi skilled Engineers who have experience with AC and DC Motors, gearboxes, fans, and pumps.

  • You will be joining a team of Engineers to undertake both Electrical and Mechanical planned and reactive maintenance tasks to plant machinery across the facility. 
  • This is a “hands on” multi skilled role and you will be supporting presses, ABB and Kawasaki robots, hydraulics and pneumatics, and PLC run plant machinery in a production environment.

  • You will ideally be Apprentice trained and/or hold a relevant Engineering qualification such as City & Guilds or ONC/HNC.
  • Successful candidates will be able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings, and will also hold fault finding abilities with PLC controls.

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer Role Description

  • You will be joining the Engineering team to provide effective reactive engineering support to plant and equipment within an automated manufacturing environment. 
  • You will also conduct planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) including implementing and developing new processes to resolve maintenance faults, repeat issues and inefficiencies in a continuous improvement.
  • You will be working rotating 4 on / 4 off 12 hours shifts Days and Nights. 

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer Skills and Qualifications

  • Successful candidates will ideally hold a recognised Time served Apprenticeship, supported by an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification such as City & Guilds/ONC/NVQ3 or equivalent. 18th Edition wiring regulations would also be of benefit.
  • Strong Electrical abilities are key to this role, including Electrical fault finding, testing, parts replacement and experience with PLCs. Mechanically, you will have experience with hydraulics and pneumatics and will ideally have some welding /fabrication abilities.
  • I would be keen to speak with Maintenance Electricians, and Maintenance Engineers who hold Industrial Maintenance experience.
