Duties:

The Production Controller will be responsible for supporting the Operations Team to determine and maintain all sales demands and ensure customer requirements are met, as well as:

  • Schedule and Expedite the production of a range of products to meet sales requirements
  • Negotiate sales demands and any changes that meet customer requirements
  • Expedite, audit and determine sales requirements from customers ensuring products are available as required to meet shipping requirements
  • Plan, Co-ordinate and ensure the despatch of products to meet customer requirements
  • Sales forecasts to support procurement and business analysis
  • Create a daily production schedule
  • Investigate and improve adherence to production schedule output
  • Reduce supply chain costs
  • Create sales, production and inventory forecasts for 12month periods
  • Produce reports and promote effective improvement activities

Skills & Experience:

The successful Production Controller will have:

  • HNC/HND / NVQ Level 4 or equivalent
  • APICS would be beneficial
  • 5years’ experience in a supply chain and production control position
  • A great understanding of manufacturing and warehouse operations

  • Lead investigations into daily issues leading to root cause analysis and implementation of countermeasures
  • Project Managing customer driven projects

  • Design, set up and carryout product performance and evaluating experiment tests
  • Provide a technical input into improvement of existing and future product design and developments.
  • Represent the product to customers and at events, conferences, seminars etc

Skills & Experience:

  • A degree in an engineering discipline
  • 3 years industry experience
  • Experience in project and programme management

The Project Engineer’s Responsibilities are to:

  • Work with the team to drive the profitability of the business.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the company and products in order to be proactive in sourcing new suppliers and improving cost and quality of components.

Requirements:

The Project Engineer will have:

  • A HND or HNC in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
  • Formal qualifications for Pro-Engineer / AutoCAD Computer Aided Design
  • Proven applied understanding of production commodity groups:
    • Plastic Injection Moulding
    • Zinc
    • Aluminium / Die casting
    • Metal Pressings / Injection Moulding / Metal Turning
    • Heat treatments and Hardening processes
  • NPI Management or Supervision experience
  • MRP / MAP computer systems experience
  • 2 years’ in a similar Product analysis environment/role.
  • Applied 5s / 6 sigma within a production environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO9001 and ISO 14001.

DUTIES

The Product Engineer’s Responsibilities are to:

  • To be responsible for the planning, co-ordination, monitoring, reporting and introduction of new products, projects and components in accordance with departmental procedures, management instruction, quality, cost and delivery targets.
  • Ensure external manufacturing processes are capable and consistent of giving the correct component specification and quality.
  • Ensure the maintenance, replacement and repair/refurbishment of supplier loaned production tooling, ensuring that deliveries are consistent, correct and to component specification and quality.
  • Develop and implement plans to meet company objectives.
  • Monitor plans and recommend adjustments (where necessary) to take into account deviations which could effect on time delivery.
  • Understand general business, departmental and personal objectives and develop independent/team solutions to achieve the required targets.
  • Compile new product and promotion manufacturing quotations within the specified time frame and ensure the correct selection of supplier, manufacturing process, material and component cost.
  • The Product Engineer will provide accurate information for the Technical Information Centre to deliver prompt and accurate introductions of Engineering Changes, Bills of Material, Product Promotions and other relevant procedures, minimising the value of redundant stock.
  • Make engineering decisions and recommendations based upon limited information by using your professional judgment and consideration to the level of risk, within the parameters defined by the department manager, company policies and authorisation system.
  • Develop the maintenance and delivery of agreed cost savings, OTIF delivery and quality improvement objectives.
  • Ensure the department and surrounding environment is clean and tidy promoting 5S, 5W, 5M and 5T activities.
  • Compliance with all SOX, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 procedures and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

The Product Engineer will have:

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Formal Qualification for the use of Pro-Engineer Computer Aided Design Software.
  • Formal Qualification for the use of Autocad Computer Aided Design Software.
  • Proven applied understanding of production commodity groups (Plastic Injection Moulding, Aluminium and/or Magnesium Die casting, Metal Pressing and/or Metal Injection Moulding or Metal Turning, Heat Treatment and Hardening processes).
