An exciting opportunity has arisen for an additional Export Planning Supervisor to be part of an expanding, developing organisation within the engineering industry.

Duties:

The Export Planning Supervisor will:

  • Manage a team of 4-5 colleagues
  • Plan, schedule and forecast the shipment or orders ready for despatch to customers around the world
  • Ensure the process is cost efficient and customer service astounding
  • Plan and book transport, whether it be a lorry or a placement on a ship or possible air freight
  • Evaluate and analyse reports, create reports and evidence to support the reports
  • Ensure despatch can handle the amount of lorries coming onto site

Skills & Experience:

The Export Planning Supervisor will have:

  • Experience with import and export legislation and regulations
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent IT and EXCEL skills
  • Experience with devising business plans for cost reduction of transport and optimise service
  • Forward planning and organisational skills

Benefits:

The successful Export Planning Supervisor will work Monday to Thursday 8am-5.15pm and 8am-11.50pm on a Friday.

31 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays

The opportunity to earn two bonuses per annum subject to performance

Pension

Health care scheme after probation has been surpassed.

This role is commutable from Wolverhampton, Walsall, Telford, Shropshire, Stafford, Birmingham, Cannock, Staffordshire and surrounding areas.

Duties:

The Material Controller’s Key Responsibilities are to:

  • Release Purchase Orders and expedite component orders, maintaining delivery dates to an MRP schedule to support assembly and aftersales.
  • Raise manually generated orders to provide components outside of MRP control
  • Monitor the delivery performance of selected vendors
  • Agree and implement improvements in supplier delivery adherence
  • Attend supplier and department meetings to discuss and agree targets
  • Control the delivery of imported goods
  • Update shipping schedule as required  
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001 procedures and regulations

Requirements:

The Material Controller will have:

  • Understanding and Knowledge of MRP
  • Excellent Computer and MS office skills
  • Experience working within a purchasing department
  • Experience working within a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience working as a Material Controller or Material Planner

  • HND or equivalent
  • Experience in a Quality Department
  • Experience as a Quality Supervisor
  • Experience managing and coaching a team
  • Auditing experience, internally and externally at supplier sites
  • Be familiar with principles and practices (SPC, FMEA, Poke Yoke, MSA, Control Plans, Process Auditing, Problem solving techniques etc)
  • Knowledge of heat treatment and hardness testing
  • Knowledge of ISO9000
  • Experience of internal audits to ISO9000, QS9000 or TS16949

DUTIES:

The Project Engineer’s Responsibilities are to:

  • Plan, coordinate, monitor and report introduction of new products, projects and components meeting quality, cost and delivery targets.
  • Ensure external manufacturing processes are in place and consistent in providing the correct component specification and quality.
  • Maintain, replace and repair supplier loaned production tooling.
  • Develop and implement plans to meet company objectives.
  • Compile new product and promotion manufacturing quotations, ensuring supplier selection, processes, material and cost are within budget and quality expectations.
  • Provide accurate Technical information for introduction of Engineering Changes, Bill of Material, Product Promotions and any other relevant procedures.
  • Make engineering decisions and recommendations.
  • Develop, maintain and deliver agreed cost savings, ensuring quality is not compromised.
  • Work closely with buyers to input the technical support for cost savings.
  • Always check product quality.
  • Actively source and look for leads to improve product, reduce cost and deliver projects on time.
  • Be flexible to travel as per the business needs in order to fulfil the project requirements.
  • Work with the team to drive the profitability of the business.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the company and products in order to be proactive in sourcing new suppliers and improving cost and quality of components.

REQUIREMENTS:

The Project Engineer will have:

  • A HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering
  • Understanding of commodity groups would be advantageous:
    • Plastic Injection Moulding
    • Zinc /  Aluminium / Die Casting
    • Metal Pressings
    • Injection Moulding
    • Other commodities such as fastenings / bearings / electrical would also be beneficial
  • NPI Management experience
  • MRP / MAP computer systems experience is desirable but training can be provided
  • Experience in a similar Product Engineering environment / role.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
