QEHS MANAGER

Job Description

A leading organisation are now seeking an experienced Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety (QEHS) Manager to lead with all Quality, Environmental, and H&S processes, policies, legislation and legal obligations across all site operations within an expanding, global business.

DUTIES OF THE QEHS MANAGER:

  • Lead the development of Quality, Environmental, and H&S objectives/targets and implementation of best practices. 
  • Prioritise QEHS actions/initiatives and successfully transfer these to operational plans relevant to the level of risk.
  • Ensure QEHS systems and policies are applied across all departments.
  • Maintain current quality system and quality manual and manage Internal and external quality Audits.
  • Lead the completion of H&S incident investigations and Learning Reviews.
  • Set up systems to obtain and maintain ISO 18001
  • Ensure Environmental compliance across the business and set up systems to obtain and maintain ISO 14001.
  • This role will require occasional overseas travel.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE QEHS MANAGER

  • Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health and/or Environmental
  • Associate level certification to IEMA and/or general certification in NEBOSH
  • Minimum 5 year’s, experience in QEHS Management gained within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies (HSE, Environment Agency, Councils)
  • Understanding and experience of Safety / Environmental Management Systems inc ISO 40001 and ISO 18001
  • A superb communicator (written and verbal)
  • Proactive, hands-on approach

Person Specification

  • The Quality Engineer will have a bias in mechanical engineering and the ability to read and interpret drawings

  • Have knowledge of current ISO quality standards

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • The Quality Engineer will conduct root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for process related concerns
  • Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the current systems
  • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventative actions
  • Analyse internal quality failures, corrective and preventive action to determine trends and target improvement activities accordingly using tools such as Pareto analysis
  • The Quality Engineer will create and maintain company quality documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures, Quality plans and check lists and preparation of QA reports
  • Responsible for maintaining the ongoing calibration of monitoring and measuring equipment used throughout the business. When required, develop and deliver training material to customers and end users of client products at the customer or end user's premise
  • Interface with our Engineering and Sales departments to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data through involvement in DFMEAs. Maintain and police the non-conformance database.

  • The SHEQ Manager may be required to deliver toolbox talks to the staff should we have a significant H&S incident
