Job Description

An independent sub-contract machine shop in the Oxfordshire is looking to recruit a CNC Programmer – mill/turn. This clients work includes small batch work, one offs on various small to medium components from aerospace to automotive. Role and responsibilities

  • Programming, Setting & Operating CNC Mill/Turn machines 
  • Small to medium batch work Working to typical tolerances of +/- .001" (0.025mm) and occasional tolerances of +/- .0005" (0.0125 mm) 
  • You will be part of a great team, working within a modern and clean environment, producing high precision parts and components for aerospace and automotive industries
  • The nature of the work is small to medium batch with medium to high complexity
  • You will be machining to a very high standard

CNC Programmer Knowledge/ Experience Required

  • Working on a Mazak 400, using Fanuc controls
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment.  
  • Apprentice trained with at least 5 years’ experience

CNC Programmer Attributes

  • Ability to adapt to new technology and work to timetables and deadlines 
  • Ability to improve and implement best practice

Hours and Salary

  • Monday to Thursday - working from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm (30 mins for lunch) 
  • Friday – working from 8.00 am to 3.30 pm (30 mins for lunch) 
  • Standard rate - £17 per hour 
  • Overtime payable at x 1.5 hourly rate (days)

STOCK CONTROLLER

The Stock Controller Benefits include:

Key Responsibilities

  • To set up and run a PI plan for warehouse operations to physically count
  • Make sage stock adjustments from submitted counts
  • Investigate and correct stock issues, checking sage/physical stock discrepancies and fill in a summary report
  • Sorting and labelling locations
  • Investigating when ‘Free Stock’ appears and amending sage, completing summary report
  • The Stock Controller should be able to Organise yearly stocktake

Candidate Specification

  • The Stock Controller should demonstrate excellent computer skills
  • Should have a knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • The Stock Controller should have Sage Experience
  • At Least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Attention to detail is essential 

Bill of Material (BOM’s)

  • Analyse BOM to ensure the material is correct.
  • Ensure the times within each process are correct
  • Working with the production team to ensure BOM details are updated to reflect current operations

PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR

Press Brake Operator Key Responsibilities

  • Set-up, adjust and prepare press brake (Current machines) Amada, Edwards Pearson.
  • Finding correct tooling/program per set-up.
  • Check the heights of tooling and adjust back stops etc. along with light guards.
  • Set-up and adjustment of material for folding at correct height.
  • Locating programs and adjust tonnage and tooling for each part being formed.
  • Provide feedback to Production Manager all jobs not meeting set-up and/or production standards.
  • Producing folded parts to drawings supplied, measuring with Vernier Caliper, Protractors etc.
  • Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.

Press Brake Operator Specification

  • This person will work well on their own and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • He/she will need to be well driven.
  • The appropriate person must have a keen eye for detail, and ability to read drawings.
  • They must have pride in their work and maintain a tidy safe workspace.
  • Must be reliable, and physically fit.

CFA Design Engineer Role Overview

  • The CFA Design Engineer works within the Estimating team whose principal objective is to identify new business opportunities by preparing design solutions, estimates and tender proposals for the delivery of a variety of piling disciplines that meets the customer’s needs and in accordance with the Company’s Sales and Commercial Strategy.
  • The role is design and estimating. You will need to be proficient in working with design software such as AutoCAD / Wallap / Cads (or similar) and Microsoft Word and Excel and also have an understanding of the estimating process. 
  • You will be expected to work from a bill of quantities, or a set of drawings and any other form of enquiry documents a client will issue and provide piling designs and price estimates for everything from a one-off scheme to ongoing projects which will be completed over several months.
  • You will be required to follow a project through with any design requirements as the project develops or progresses.
  • You will be expected to have combined site experience with quantity surveying skills, commercial acumen and a mind capable of financial analysis.

CFA Design Engineer Essential Candidate Requirements

  • BA Engineering / Civil Engineering – or equivalent in relevant experience

Reporting to the Operations Director, this is a standalone quality management role. The department consists of this Senior Quality Engineer and a CMM Programmer.

You will be responsible for managing and improving the efficiency of The Quality Assurance Department.  Reducing Non-Conformance costs and aiming for right first time with zero customer complaints.  Progressing towards total quality ownership of all employees.

Review and update operations and processes to ensure that they conform to established total quality standards.

The position is titled ’Senior Quality Engineer’, but its effectively a Quality Manager role, with this individual running the quality department.

Person Specification

  • A minimum of three years recent experience in a Senior Quality Engineer or Quality Manager, with the ability to train employees in quality related subjects.
  • CMM Programming, PC-DMIS experience is essential. CMM certification would be highly advantageous.
  • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).
  • Experience of AS9100 certifications.
  • Sound knowledge of inspection techniques, including:
  • the ability to interpret mechanical engineering drawings and determine appropriate measuring techniques.
  • the ability to produce credible inspection and associated reports.
  • Mechanical Engineering Qualification and an ISO 9000 Auditor qualification ideally.
  • Previous experience in managing Quality Management System.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • The Senior Quality Engineer will assure product quality and strive for continual total quality improvement. Develop cost effective processes to ensure that total quality is promoted.
  • Maintain relevant ISO and AS EN 9100 certifications or equivalent and any other area of “best practices”.
  • To be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Quality Department; all forms of inspection and testing including, 1st off Intermediate and Final Inspection and compiling analysis reports and to supervise on inspection methods 
  • Provide QA training, including training of Operators in all aspects of inspection techniques and equipment, including the preparation of inspection equipment work instruction.
  • The Senior Quality Engineer will produce FAIR & 8Ds and undertake CMM programming as required.
  • Assisting in the effective management of the entire measurement and test equipment calibration system. 
  • Managing NCR database and provide quality assurance to ensure continuous improvement and managing External and Internal Audits.
