MULTI SKILLED MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

We are currently assisting a Leading Packaging Facility based throughout the UK in their search for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance engineer to join their already established Maintenance team.

Ideally the Multi-Skilled Maintenance engineer will hold the following: 

Happy to work a 5day pattern – working Earlies and Lates – Rotating - - Weekends included! 

  • Proven experience within a Multi-Skilled role – clear proof of taking on both Electrical and Mechanical duties. 
  • Previous experience within Packaging organisation. 
  • Minimum qualifications – ONC or equivalent in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
  • Good electrical experience including effective isolation / testing / fault finding / working safely to 17th edition Wiring Regulations standards
  • Good operational knowledge of PLC and Inverter programming.
  • Able to work alone and within a small team
  • Experience in an automated process environment including packaging machinery, conveyors, wrapping machines, tray erectors and heat tunnels.
  • Flexible approach to working hours at short notice to meet customer requirements.
  • Possess good communication skills to facilitate effective reporting and the training of the Technicians.
  • PC literate as all spares ordering is in e-format.
  • Apprentice trained holding a formal qualification in Engineering

Crane Service Engineer Role Description

  • In this role you will be carrying out Installation, refurbishment, service and repair of Cranes, Hoists and Lifting equipment at client sites in the Midlands and surrounding area.
  • You will be undertaking Crane and Gantry installation, inspection, testing and commissioning and Jib Crane installation, inspection, testing and commissioning.
  • You will also undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance and identify potential mechanical and electrical faults, and attend emergency breakdowns when required.
  • This is an additional role to join an expanding team.

Crane Service Engineer Skills and Qualifications

  • Successful candidates will hold experience with Overhead Electric Travelling Cranes, and industrial Electrical experience supported by qualifications such as NVQ L3 or above.
  • I would be keen to hear from Crane Engineers, Crane Technicians, Crane Maintenance Electricians, or Field Service Engineers who have experience with Overhead Cranes.
  • If you hold a clean, valid driving license, good communication skills, are flexible, able to work independently, and are prepared to travel then we would love to hear from you!

Duties of an Installation Engineer

  • As an Installation Engineer, you will be required to assemble our hardware in the workshop and subsequently install the assembled equipment on our clients sites. 
  • This will see you working in a wide range of industrial and manufacturing environments and the role will require you to work throughout the UK and Europe and will require regular overnight stays. 

Requirements of an Installation Engineer

  • Ideally you will have gained your engineering experience within either a service or maintenance engineering capacity and be comfortable working as the companies sole representative on site.  

Ideally you will be apprentice trained, however must be qualified to a City & Guilds / NVQ standard and have good all-round electro / mechanical skills allied to a pretty clean driving licence.

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer Role Description

  • You will be joining the Engineering team to provide effective reactive engineering support to plant and equipment within an automated manufacturing environment. 
  • You will also conduct planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) including implementing and developing new processes to resolve maintenance faults, repeat issues and inefficiencies in a continuous improvement.
  • You will be working rotating 4 on / 4 off 12 hours shifts Days and Nights. 

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer Skills and Qualifications

  • Successful candidates will ideally hold a recognised Time served Apprenticeship, supported by an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification such as City & Guilds/ONC/NVQ3 or equivalent. 18th Edition wiring regulations would also be of benefit.
  • Strong Electrical abilities are key to this role, including Electrical fault finding, testing, parts replacement and experience with PLCs. Mechanically, you will have experience with hydraulics and pneumatics and will ideally have some welding /fabrication abilities.
  • I would be keen to speak with Maintenance Electricians, and Maintenance Engineers who hold Industrial Maintenance experience.

  • Ideally some CNC experience

Product Design Engineer Purpose 

  • The position will report into the Head of Design and support New Design Product Development exercises. The role will be responsible for delivering high level performance driven products from concept through to production.
  • Working from initial briefs, dealing with all the gateways and phases along the way to ensure time, cost and deadline are met. 
  • Integrate new technologies in new product development projects. 
  • Design and develop new product concept ideas.
  • Provide front end aesthetic and user orientated design solutions to the specifications and requirements. 
  • Design for manufacture with all processes and methods considered 
  • Create prototypes to prove out and develop new concepts and design solutions.
  • Test products, components, prototypes, technologies, recording test results for review and action
  • Assist in transfer of product from development to manufacturing
  • Ensure that projects comply with current legislation, Health and Safety regulations, and strict compliance with R&D Reliability and Document Control best practice.

Product Designer Requirements 

  • A minimum qualification of a degree or equivalent in a design or engineering discipline
  • At least five years’ experience in a design engineering role is essential
  • A strong proven background in the complete / whole product design and development of Electronic / Consumer Goods or similar.
  • Preferable experience in electro-mechanical consumer products, with strong design for plastics and design for manufacture experience.
  • Strong visual communication of concepts and ideas via traditional and digital sketching/drawing ability 
  • Experienced user of 3D CAD Solidworks, CREO, NX, CATIA etc
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques
  • Skilled in prototyping and producing product mock-ups
