This is an important position within the R&D team, and you will be key in driving the development of the company proprietary software (for public release and internal development tools). 

You will also be responsible for the quality and features of end-user-facing software products. The role also encompasses web development duties by way of maintenance and development of new areas of the company family of websites and web tools.

Key Responsibilities, but not limited to

  • Specifying, designing and developing new, user-focused software as per business needs
  • Support and maintenance of existing software, including the specification and development of new features
  • Working within the Digital Team to understand requirements for - and resolve issues with – software
  • Assisting in software project planning
  • Identifying areas for improvement within company software development processes and delivering solutions for them

Person Specification 

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant subject, with 3+ years’ commercial software development experience.
  • PC and Mac software development experience, using Visual Studio and XCode.
  • Proficiency in C++ programming is essential!
  • Experience with JUCE application framework would be useful, not essential.
  • Android and iOS platform development experience would be highly advantageous.

Other Useful Experience

  • Web development experience using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP. 
  • Developing sites in PHP, MySQL using OOP and MVC frameworks.
  • Understanding of Google Analytics.
  • Linux based dedicated servers using the command line.
  • Experience using version control software (GIT).
  • Experience testing own software using a variety of methods. 

Salary and Hours

  • £31,000 - £34,000 negotiable, dependant on experience
  • 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

As the Export Specialist / Customer Service Administrator your duties will include:

As the Engineering Manager, your duties will include:

  • To Manage and ensure the machinery are kept in good working order by scheduling timely maintenance –  regular and ad-hoc - via management of the various engineering resources.

Operations Manager Candidate Specification

  • Experience working in a fast-moving, high variety/ low volume, labour intense manual assembly environment is ‘essential’ – this role wouldn’t suit someone from a precision engineering background
  • Highly motivated, problem solver with good people management skills, and the ability to manage, motivate and mentor, improving efficiency throughout the operations team
  • Proven ability to manage change and contribute effectively to developing the future organization – this would be gradual and not drastic change
  • Lean Manufacturing – the ability to identify opportunities and implement lean techniques, although you don’t have to be an expert in this area
  • Experience of managing Quality ISO9001, Environmental ISO14001 systems and experience of operating MRP systems
  • A Degree would be desirable, but is not essential
