DESIGN ENGINEER
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer, to work with an established leader in their market, who are part of an international manufacturer, operating from a new, state-of-the-art facility.

The businesses' growth continues, increasing revenue by 6 million this past year, with further revenue increase expected going forward, including a recent acquisition of another company, further extending its product offering and expanding the geographical sales of the business.
With UK based assembly, the focus is on providing high quality products, customised to each customers' unique requirements in short lead times, whilst maintaining a cost base competitive with imported products.
Hours and Benefits
- £38,000 - £40,000
- 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
- Performance bonus, 15% of salary

Design Engineer Role Function
The Design Engineer will create new products and take responsibility from inception to final design within an agreed timeline. You will meet customer and sales expectations through customizing existing products and components to their new product requirements within short deadlines.
Candidate Specification
- A proven Design Engineer, who is self-motivated and self-managing, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Essentially, you will have proven experience of designing from concept to final product.
- Simulation and Testing experience would be highly advantageous.
- At least five years’ experience in a product development role with plastic and rubber mouldings – ideally.
- Experience in metal work fabrication, and in sealing technologies to prevent the ingress of water and dust.
- HNC/HND qualified.
- Experience in 3D CAD, PTC Creo experience would be an advantage, but is not essential, other 3D proficiencies will be accepted.
- Works well to deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- The Design Engineer will manage projects to improve performance and reliability of present and future products, covering the concept, specification, tender and development of new products or components
- Design the aesthetics, materials and functionality of new products
- Use Creo CAD system to design and visualise projects create 2D drawings to enable procurement of tooling and components
- Create photo realistic images from 3D models and assembly’s for customer visualisation
- Undertake model making, prototyping and product testing
- Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and vendors involved in a project, liaise with customers to identify their requirements
- Plan effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard and to budget
